I'm curious to know if you left the car with the stock wheel/tire combo size, or if you've upgraded. 245s on the front seem okay to me, but the rear needs more meat, however, I'm guessing you can't go much wider on the stock wheel. Did you go with a wider tire on the stock wheel, if so how much wider, or did you go to a wider wheel, and if so, how wide wheel/tire? Or did you just leave on the stock 245s?

I ordered the wheels I wanted, specifically because I don’t plan on upgrading. If I was just gonna upgrade anyway, I would’ve stuck with the stock wheels

I've heard that a 255 is the widest you can go on the stock rim without being risky. I'm on stock wheels for now, but might switch to MMR or OEM 1LE.

I left the stock wheel tire combo for now. As the rear tires slowly wear, I'm searching for a matching rear wheel pair off a 1SS or 2SS. Those will get 275 nitto drag radials for the rear. The rears need a stickier compound more than they need more meat. Narrow drag radials hook infinitely better than wide summer tires. Wide tires "look" nice but won't help with traction the way sticky tires do.

I have my original wheel combo for now and they do ok on the twisty roads near me even though the traction light comes on coming out of a few of the curves. If anything I wanted to do some research because I really like the wheels it came with and I was told you could fit 255s on the rears but I honestly doubt that will improve much at all. For what I do with the car I can live with them. You can still have fun with the car and do some WOT runs its just launching from 0 is rough. When I get to the point where I want to take it to the dragstrip that will probably be another story and I will want wider tires although the strip is prepped so I am not sure how much better it will be on the prepped surface with launch control on the stock set up.

This LT1 spins quite a bit with the 245's. Plus I just don't like the look, needs some big fat fatties on the car!

I had wheels and tires on standby before I took delivery. 20x9.5 front and 20x11 rear. Run 305’s in the rear. The stock LT1 wheels/tires make good winter tires and nothing more.

The SS wheels are easy to find brand new on E Bay. The guy I bought them from had 11 sets. I sold my factory 8.5 " wheels for $500, paid $1000 for a new set of Factory Carbon Flash staggered wheels . Then replaced the rears with a set of Nitto Drag Radials.

I purchased, and had a set of SS wheels at the house before my car was even delivered. At 2 miles on the odometer, the stock wheels and tires went into the basement and the SS wheels and tires went on. Both are Carbon Flash so visually, there is no difference. SS take off wheels are pretty cheap in the grand scheme of things. When\IF I ever decide to sell the car, I will just toss the original wheels and tires back on the car.

Mine came with the Caliente wheels (originally from the Hot Wheels edition). I didn't like them at first, and planned on replacing them with a set of SS cast-offs, for the wider rears.

But the Calientes have grown on me. They made them in the wider size, but I can't find them for sale anywhere, new or used. I'd pick up a pair of the wider ones for the rear if I could find them.

Struggling with whether to keep 245s all around and cope, or giving up the wheels I really like to get a set with the wider rears.

What does this thread have to do with tire/wheel sizes?
