Goal for Vegas's Fastest Gen 6
Well this will be a nice little spot to showcase all the mods and pictures of the car from random runs with one of the local corvette clubs to solo drives.

Those are all pretty good goals to accomplish
|
Alright here's the first picture of the car.
MSD AirForce intake manifold and Vmax ported throttle body came in. Still waiting on headers from ARH, then we will build the remaining bit of the exhaust. Dyno numbers will come after each upgrade |
Already started. Ended up going with ARH Long tubes and we're making the x-pipe. Then I'll wait and see what Borla offer's as far as NPP goes
MSD Intake is on, the stock throttle body gets ported tomorrow. Still need to do a tune and an air intake. Dyno results will be posted. (these will be off a Mustang Dyno) http://i599.photobucket.com/albums/t...psm9hqftr2.jpg http://i599.photobucket.com/albums/t...psdkdhctuq.jpg |

Thanks for the pics. Nice results from the dyno! Seems like you are well on your way to completing your goal.
|
An CAI will benefit your intake manifold and exhaust setup greatly. I am willing to bet with a proper CAI and tune 480 - 490 is within reach.
|
I think it's in reach, couple more little things I want to do that don't cost too much.
I'm curious to see what HP is possible under a 5k budget in parts (figured it could give other's a good idea on what to do) Drink- Anytime! Unfortunately I think it'll just take a little time, just have to wait on a good majority of it to be designed and built lol Here's the end result of the engine bay at the moment. http://i599.photobucket.com/albums/t...pshymtwags.jpg |
looking forward to your next dyno pull with all the better breathing in place!
( CAI,TB,IM,Headers and Full Exhaust) Do you figure a guy can get all that at $5k? How it feel on the butt dyno? |

What do you mean by on the butt dyno? Sorry meant to get to your PM's I've just spaced it :bonk: |

Correct me if I'm wrong... but you're getting 453 torque and 416 hp on the dyno now? It sounds like you are just in the process of installing the headers so I assume that dyno run was before the exhaust mod? I was doing some calculations and was trying to achieve the same or greater torque to weight ratio as my current car ( in sig) The Torque figure I need: 3900 / 8.53 = 457 tq ( wheel) 3900 / 9.90 = 393 hp ( wheel) ( already achieved from factory) My current car is torque heavy, so any extra horsepower will be great for the track and icing on the cake... I just want ensure I get that daily driver THRUST you get for lane changes that only torque can give you.... I think if I can get to these numbers without going to ZL1 $$$, I will stick to ordering a 1LE instead of a ZL1... I keep hearing about heatsoak in the LT4 after the first couple laps... Just curious if you could ballpark what parts and labour $$$ you think it would come out to to get at least those numbers. I only ask since you're right in the middle of the process and are in Vegas. (I've heard it can be cheaper getting stuff done there....) |

Everything is installed currently, just waiting on HP tuners to send a file so we can get a better tune on it. Then I'll post the final numbers on this set up since it's more.. "budget friendly" if you would. Parts and labor I've spend about $5,000 on it (including shipping) I can find the receipt for everything to give a better break down on parts.. About 1,000 of that came from installing the headers.:lol::lol::lol: The stock dyno had 416 Hp and 453 tq at the wheels. My whole reason to waiting for the "final" dyno is that I want that file from HP tuners and the proper intake should help from CAI. Rather give a good sheet with no "if's, and's or but's" on it Go with the 1LE, I know plenty of guys ditching the stock supercharger on their Z06 and going with a pro charger |
Can't wait to hear the numbers.
|
Awesome ! Yeah I'm leaning heavily towards the 1LE.... I'll have to do some research on the TVS vs procharger thing... Didn't realize folks were ditching the LT4's TVS ' charger ... Heat soak issues?
