Can satin hood wrap on 1LE be removed without paint damage ?

It can be peeled off, carefully a few have done it without damage. I have yet to hear about damaged/damaging paint.

Yes. Mine was. Just use some heat, go slow, and then Goo Gone or something similar to remove any remaining adhesive.

Yes, it can and there are quite a few threads about this. For future reference, you can search "remove 1LE hood wrap" or any other question in google and it will give you links to the threads in this forum. It's more accurate than searching within here via the search bar.

Rhobz,
That white looks great without the hoodwrap! :w00t: |
So has anyone wrapped their hoodwrap with PPF? I purchased a used 1LE with PPF over the GM vinyl and not sure if i want to keep it that way. The original PPF installer believes the PPF will come off leaving the vinyl in tact....but of course there is risk involved.

I was entertaining this idea when I first got my car, but because the car sits so low I see some paint chips around my hood above the grill, I feel the wrap protects the hood paint.
Some say it helps with the glare from the sun, but I'm not sure if that is a fact or not, since I still have my wrap and haven't drove an SS without it...I can see how it might help with that though. |
