Anybody have a Magnaflow resonated X-Pipe on the V6

They sound pretty good on the Gen5, wonder how they sound on the Gen6.

There are a few out there not sure they are active on these forums though. And I don't recall the youtube channels atm.

I have the Magnaflow cat back w/NPP on my 2SS. Heavy drone 1500-2000 rpm. Nobody in the house likes riding in the car anymore. Only sounds great on the outside. Issues with NPP/AFM cams slipping (geometry off on the mounting flanges maybe). For this I have video.

Currently my NPP is disabled with the AFM valves hanging from zip ties. If there is a plus it is fit and finish only.

In the market for Borla or Corsa.

Not saying you'd have the same luck with the RS, but do your research.

Except for adding headers I see no reason to replace to stock NPP unless you are just trying to lose weight.

headers dont exist on the v6.

Sound is quite subjective. So while it makes little sense to pay extra for npp to just get rid of it, there are plenty of acoustic reasons someone may not like the npp exhaust ....on top of weight savings.

What is the part number for the x pipe?

Utah6thgen 07-10-2017 07:18 PM

11386. Ordered mine on Amazon for $107

I just bought this and it’s great! I have straight pipes behind the 2nd cat. There was an x pipe in stock system or maybe it was just a resonator. I deleted those and the mufflers and added this magnafloe resonated x pipe. Also from amazon for 120 shipped.

Shounds great. It’s a nice deep sound that v6s don’t get. However for my taste tho I will be deleting 2nd cats also. I had a dynomax vt on my 5th gen 2015 v6 and it was amazing! Sounded perfect for my ears not too lound and not quiet either. Zero drone. I than took out the 2nd cats and oh boi... I couldn’t resist but step on gas every time. 2nd cats makes a huge different in sound in WOT. I’ll be doing this to my 6th gen v6 also.

But so far I have straight pipes with magnaflow x pipe and I’m loving it.

Hey with the resonated x-pipe from magnaflow, I was thinking of cutting my resonator and replacing it with the magnaflow one since my stock resonator is going bad. Will it fit the stock setup?

Yes, I have the Magnaflow resonated X-pipe and a MBRP axle-back exhaust (https://www.phastekperformance.com/M...-6-s7038al.htm). It sounds amazing! However, it is very loud and there is some drone.
