Trunk Won't Open!
My car is still in winter storage and I went there the other day just to fire it up and let it run for a while. I tried to open the trunk with the button on the door. Nothing. Tried the fob release. Nothing.
Any ideas? I've got a cage and rear seat delete so it'll be a real pain in the arse to go through the inside to use the emergency release... |
Press down on the trunk and try again. Happened to me once.

When you say "nothing" does that mean you can hear the electric release activate but the trunk doesn't open, or does it mean the battery in the car is low and the electric release doesn't activate.
If you hear the electric release activate but the trunk doesn't open then the suggestion above to put some downward pressure on the trunk lid should do it. That has happened to my car too. If the battery is low then you can open the hood and put a charger or jump start on the "jump start" posts to get 12V to the car. Then try the release to see if the trunk opens. Good luck! |
The car was running while this happened. I also tried pushing down on the trunk lid. There was no sound from the release mechanism when both methods were tried. :noidea:

1. if it's got power, pushing down sometimes works.
2. if it doesn't, happy spelunking. |
Maybe a fuse. Batteries in your fob low. That's where I would start.

Valet mode?

That happen to my Gen5 Camaro and found that the wires had been pinched by the lid it self. Was a easy fix.

...when I get it open. :smiling1: |
Here is a stupid question: was the electric parking brake set? I know with my M6, I cannot open the trunk unless the parking brake is set.
|
Mine just did it a few days ago. I had to go through the car to pull the release. Lots of fun for a 6-2 290lb dude. Hahaha. Worked perfect since.
