Pushrod Length with new Cam and my master plan for new 1LE

Does anyone know what the factory pushrod length is on the non-DOD cylinders, 7.850"? Assuming I were to use a new GM same thickness head gasket, Cadillac race lifters, and a Cammotion Titan II Cam, would I need a pushrod length checker to verify the length or would measuring the stock length pushrod on a non-DOD cylinder work? Will 3/8" fit or do I need to use 5/16"?

My plan on a 22 1LE M6 is as follows:

1. Rotofab CAI with dry filter
2. Katech ported 87mm TB
3. Non ported LT2 intake
4. Cammotion Titan II at 222/234, 114+4, .612 .603
5. Cadillac race lifters
6. 1 7/8" headers with cats to stock NPP
7. Get a Tune with HP Tuners
8. DSX Flex fuel kit
9. Will normally run on 94 Chevron or 93 Shell

Everything is pretty mild, but put together I am hoping for a very reliable 510hp or so at the wheels on 94 Chevron. What do you guys think?

So I can measure my stock ones and see what length they are, but I can't really figure out what you are trying to do or if you are trying to use stock pushrods or not?

Pretty sure all the non-stock cams are going to have a smaller base-circle and as I understand it the only reason why you would need to change pushrod length with just a cam change.

Well, I want to go with 16 new pushrods, 3/8" diameter, .080 thick Manton or Trend, and the correct length for a new cam with obviously no DOD. I would be surprised if base circle will be different but maybe? I'm just trying to see what length push rods with stock cylinder heads and new stock head gasket would be required. Any input on parts combo and expected HP goal are also welcome.

I’d measure. What springs? I don’t see that on your list. I’d run beehives personally…

The go to length is:
BTR: LT Chromoly 5/16" Pushrods [Camaro Corvette CTS V, LT1 LT4 LT5] × 1
7.850" with LS7 lifters on my build.

Your build is not to far off from my build. I netted 526 RWHP and you can add another 25-30 RWHP depending on tune and E85 strength.

I would measure...especially since you are using different lifters then LS7. Most of the base cam swap kits include LS7 lifters and 7.850 push rods. Different lifters may require a slightly different push rod length.

I'll get a length checker in case the Cadillac race lifters are a different length than LS7 lifters. For springs I was looking at .660 Platinums from Cammotion. As for pushrod width, will 3/8" fit or will I need to stick with 5/16"?

Just curious, why not port the LT2? A lot of folks seem to go with a 95mm TB, is that not needed for these power levels?

Pushrods

Do it right. You let your engine builder measure them.

Run 3/8 .080 or .135 pushrods, measure the length. Do not make the mistake of assuming length and accidentally hanging a valve open. It takes about 5 minutes to measure with a length checker

I will be measuring length for the pushrods, although I am still curious if the Cadillac lifters are the same height as LS7 lifters.

I was browsing yesterday and came across your post. This is a great forum for information gathering and likely making new friends. I live in PoCo and have a 2018 2SS A8. I'll start by saying my kit came with 7.700 3/8 chromoly LS7 pushrods. They were the wrong length and I needed to exchange them for 7.850 rods.
I ordered my kit from TSP. A local shop "Racing Greed" did the install and tuning. Very happy with the results. The kit was their Gen5 LT1 VVT-1 camshaft with factory fuel lobe: 227/231, 635"/635", 116 LSA, 110.5 ICL. Came with springs, seats, Ti retainers and 0 degree phaser limiter plus all associated fasteners and gaskets. A LS C7Rcam chain, TSP roller tip rockers(probably the reason I needed longer pushrods) Comp Cams lifters and a DOD Delete kit.
Other mods are a Chevrolet Performance CAI and axle back mufflers, 1 7/8" long tubes I had ceramic coated in Langley(catless)
Best pull was 504HP and 478 FT/LB on Shell 93, several pulls were 498/476
I can live with that. I would like to add the newer Vette intake manifold in the springtime, but thats it for now.Hopefully I can post up my graphs soon and finish my signature lol. BTW it was on a Mustang dyno:thumbup:

That sounds like a lot of money for 50hp. Would you do it again? I was considering doing what you did but now IDK.

Thats why many folks do the heads and intake manifold along with the cam... the gains can be closer to 150whp. The extra 3-4k is worth almost triple the gains.
