Pull fuse on v6 npp exhaust?

Hi Everyone,
Has anyone pulled the fuse on the npp dual mode exhaust for a v6? does it make a difference? does it get annoyingly drony when driving long distance? does it void the warranty? can you put it back in if you want to?

thanks in advance!

**EDIT**
I tested out the fuse pull and am happy with the results definitely deeper idle and more crackling/ backfires when revving and driving. And the valves don't close when your driving on the highway/ backroads so whenever you accelerated the exhaust is fully open.

I made a video to show the differences if anyone is interested in doing it! I have an RS Camaro I would assume that with the SS or ZL1 the fuse pull will make an even more difference.

Yes I pulled mine, no drone at higher speeds. It's a fuse...you can put it back in if you need it.
All it does is keeps the exhaust valve open. It's great for a free mod.

I pulled my fuse in February and its a lot better. If you want to step further to add more sound, keep the stock muffler (NPP) and delete resonator and put x-pipe, the difference :) is day and night and you don't have to spend $1000 + on Borla or another company.

Did you get a CEL?

ChangerOfWays 12-22-2017 02:15 PM

I've had the fuse pulled for about a month and so far, no CEL.

I also read issues about '17 models reclosing the valves even with the fuse pulled, but I haven't had that happen yet.

Be ready for the secondary tips to get alot dirtier, more quickly :)

Long term, i’ll bet you put the fuse back in.....

Don't the valves stay open when in "sport" mode?

I'll take that bet!

I removed mine over a month ago. While there is definitely a difference at both startup and steady state cruising, it is in no way offensive.
If it was, 'she' would have noticed it and said something. Not a peep from her. :smiling1:

I thought I'd be putting it back in, as I did several months ago when I took it out for a few days. I don't even notice it now.

Pretty sure it's staying out.

I've had mine out for 20 months now and probably will never put fuse back in lol.

great!! and yeah I've heard things about the 17 models as well! luckily maybe the 16 models won't have that issue! and that's okay I give my exhaust tips and nice clean every wash :)

Be warned, I tried pulling the NPP fuse one day driving around town, and noticed the blind spot monitoring quit working while the fuse was pulled. Didn't light up when starting the car and didn't work while driving. Saw a couple other posts with the same issue.
