Insurance Rates

And you guys think I pay too much @ $2000 year with a prefect driving record and almost 60. What do you think this guy pays after totaling a $300k ferrari.

$1k/year with Grundy $75k declared value collector policy. Not for everyone, but works for me.

Unless you ever had to use a collector car insurance or declared value policy(I have), those numbers are worthless. They are eager to sell you valued policies
but when it comes time for a claim its a different story. My collector car was rear ended and it had a declared value but it took 5 months, a hassle, and lawyers at my expense to get it right. One thing I have learned is to pay an attorney $200 to read the policy (the thick book they dont give you, not the dec page) to make sure you are really covered. The dec page is worthless, its the fine print they get you on. Remember insurance companies are in the business to make money, not loose it. Agent told me a story about a Shelby Gt500 that was stolen out of a steel shipping container in the guys backyard. Was not covered because it was not considered a "Garage". The fine print.

Whe I brave going to Florida, and pass over the state line and notice the 100s of lawyer billboards, you are probably lucky you only pay 2k

I pay approx. $1,600 per year with AAA, and only logged 2,500 miles last year... been driving for 27 years and have a clean history... then again, im in CA :(

USAA jammed me for a 20% increase at this renewal to $709/6mths, went to Progressive for $443/6mths. I hadn't shopped car insurance for a decade at least, I was always happy with USAA but said no to a 20% increase for no reason at all. No tickets, credit score above 800. They got cancelled.

Nothing like an SS 07-10-2023 01:59 PM

I pay just over $2000 annually, ~$2100, but that is for the Camaro AND my Silverado

SE Florida is it's own country. It's a shame.

I heard some insurers are not renewing homeowner's in Florida as well- without warning!
Here in sunny (O.K.- its hot enuff right now to be... well the only thing missing is the smell of sulfur) S.Utah, AAA insurance is charging me $921/year for the following coverage on the Camaro SS:
Deductibles-
$500 for comp. and collision
Coverage Limits-
Bodily/Property/Uninsured/Underinsured = 500,100,500,500

I've also got a clean record and am old enuff to qualify for Medicare, but I don't drive like it! Fortunately I've been extremely lucky but my wife who's on the same policy has totaled 1 Subaru and damaged another a couple of times. Her car costs me another $550 a year for the same coverage. And AAA covers our home as well for a very reasonable rate. :thumb:

$750 with classic car insurance, for some reason the 6GEN Camaro qualifies? hundred percent replacement value and a shit load of other perks that my other regular insurance doesn’t offer. But also I am only good to drive my car for 7-8 months a year due to winter
