Injen - X-Pedal Pro Throttle Controller

There is a new "throttle controller" on the market for our the 2.0 Camaro. Is it just more snake oil for people to waste their money on? Or is there any performance benefit to this product?

Looks like it messes with the pedal position to what's actually sent to the ECM. IE their "econo mode" you press 50% but the ECM only sees 25%. Vice versa for the "sport mode" you press 50% but the ECM sees 65%.

I guess it could trick your brain into thinking the car is peppier but in reality there is no actual performance gain.

Isn't this how all throttle controllers must work, though? Basic input curve to output curve mapping, similar to what gamma correction maps do on our monitors. As you say, there cannot be any peak performance gains from throttle position manipulation, although it can eliminate the initial "dead zone" (which, however, I'm not entirely disapproving of ever since I saw how an unexpected road bump and the ensuing accidental throttle blip can throw you sideways in some conditions).

It's the same concept as the JMS PedalMax or Vitesse Throttle Controller although Injen's quality is known to be far better then most.
