Convertible - Rear Window Glue Coming Loose

Didn't find this issue in the forum.

My rear window (upper passenger side corner) has come loose creating a gap between the window and the ragtop. This looks to be an issue where the glue has failed. Not sure if it is because of the recently cold weather or some other factor. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, what is a good fix? I've talked to my dealer and he said the entire top would need to be replaced, but I would think there should be a way just to glue it back. Trying to avoid an expensive fix for what should be a relatively simple one.

Shouldn’t it be covered under warranty?

I believe I saw a post in the forum a while back that there was a TSB issued for that problem and the fix is to replace the convertible top.

Had that issue with mine. The dealer service advisor stated the only fix was to replace the top.

So, in late November, the full top was replaced under warranty.

Mine is starting to do the same thing. You can see the air going between the glass & top as if it's starting to separate.

Everytime I start thinking ofa convertible stuff like this pops up. First the mess that was the gen5 cars with convertible tops now this. Guess im back on a wait and see train. Im starting to think that GM should stop trying to do convertibles.

I have no complaints about my vert love it. If the top needs replacing due to window, I have no doubt they will fix it. If it needs it like I said freaking love this car no complaints would highly recommend a vert

I agree i am sure if mine starts they will fix it under warranty I only have 2k on mine so my warranty will expire well before I hit 36k

CyberGuyPR 02-08-2018 02:29 PM

Also 2k only here. I need to check it when the car comes out of hibernation.

Mine was a lot worse, the dealer replaced whole top no charge

I've got 20K miles here. No problems.
