Climate Control Display Gone?
1 Attachment(s)
This isn't the first time I've had this issue, it has happened a half a dozen times. When you adjust your climate controls the 8" display will quickly display what you're adjusting. Well, occasionally the below picture is the only thing that appears. You have no means of seeing anything that you're actually adjusting, it's a complete software bug. I believe this is related to remote starting though; I've had similar issues like this before in my 2015 Mustang. I've tried shutting it off and turning it back on, but that didn't work I guess because the system was still technically on (I didn't get out of the car).
I've also had a more complicated software bug regarding the media controls not working this same way as the climate controls when being adjusted (music wasn't displaying on the HUD, AppleCar Play completely inoperable, no bluetooth music streaming working), but I'll save that for a later post once I can get some pictures and attempt to diagnose it somewhat; think that's happened only two times. This is just extremely frustrating and complicating to deal with while driving, any one had anything similar happen yet? Can't see this being an isolated issue the software's the same, maybe an update of some sort will resolve this issue in the future. Worst part is it's inconsistent and intermittent (one of the hardest problems to troubleshoot). |
I am betting this is a Carplay software glitch...does it do it with Car Play disabled, phone not connected via USB?

Check the fuses!! I had this issue, it is now gone as some of the fuses where a bit loose! Make sure to check the one in the trunk as well!

Very good suggestions! I will work on diagnosing it paying attention to USB hookup first and then check the fuses. Thank you both!
Also, I just came across this thread and will be looking into getting the software update, because it may fix this issue! Wish there was a way to subscribe to those updates or at least even update the software ourself... http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=434813 "Intermittent Radio Resets, Volume Control Inoperative, HVAC Control Function Not Displayed, XM Not Showing Station List, Seek Buttons Not Functioning, CarPlay Map Too Bright, Front Pedestrian Icon Disappears, Infotainment Over temp Message, Momentary Blue Screen When Shifting into Reverse, XM Not Displaying Station List - (Dec 10, 2015)" https://www.repairprocedures.com/bul...a/4335797.html Going to to try and schedule an appointment with the dealer to update that, inspect vibration, and a possible weird clicking sound I hear coming from the back of the passenger side intermittently at interstate speeds. |
Any update?

Hey! Yes, sorry all the sudden not getting email notifications for new subscribed thread posts. They updated the software and I havent had the same issue since, seems to have fixed most if not all the software issues I was having, but seems like for some people it created some others as well.

Did you ever run into this issue again after updating? I’ve been having this issue occasionally since I got my 2016 2SS a few months ago
|
It's a remote start issue. I avoid it by pressing unlock on the fob before doing the remote start process.

Good info! thanks!

I've had this issue several times, and it is ALWAYS related to remote starting the car. Good to read about the unlock, lock process to make sure it doesn't happen.
I'll have to see about having the software updated next time I'm at the dealership. |
