2018 LT RS V6 New Owner

Just got my Camaro about 2 weeks ago now and have already logged 1k miles on it.

This is my first Camaro, and my first "sports car" "performance car" whatever you want too call it.

Im 22 and have been saving and working my ass off to buy this Camaro for a long time, and now that I finally have it I obviously want to take very good care of it.

I plan on keeping it for a few years and will most likley put close too 100k miles on it.

So my question is, what are the obvious upgrades I need too make to this car first that wont void my warranty?

Ive read that Catch Cans are useful but too my understanding the LT V6's already have one.

So, any other suggestions as far as upgrades to protect my car from the engine too the paint, wheels, interior, anything.

Just looking for some input on what you may have done to your car that has been the most beneficial for it

I’ve got mine around the same time

I replaced my 5th gen 2LT. Mods I’ve done so far are XPEL on the complete front bumper, rockers and lower doors, and the lower part of the side of the rear bumper behind the rear wheels. These are the areas most prone to chips. I’ve also added front and rear splash guards. Arriving tomorrow are a set of GM blacked out tail lights and rear brake lights.

I’ve added the Pro-fit vehicle specific console mount to pair with my existing Pro-fit phone mount and I got a 3M windshield stick mount for my radar detector.

On order is a custom fit sheepskin cover for the driver’s seat.

Once the XPEL cures by this weekend I’m going to wash the car, clay bar all the non-XPEL areas, and polish, and lay down a few coats of sealant.

Not too much other than regular maintenance, wash, wax, rain-X the windows, check tire pressure. Oil changes are very important- the most important thing. I clean my tires and wheels often- sometimes every other day. The only high performance goodies for the V6 are axle back exhaust (unless you already have NPP) and an air intake system. Most of the aftermarket performance goodies are geared towards the SS. Just enjoy the nice car- the V6 makes a great, sporty and sensible commuter and cruiser!

I forgot to mention the first thing I did was add the GM performance exhaust which isn’t much of a performance upgrade, but does greatly improve the sound without pissing off your neighbors.

Another thing worth mentioning is as far as I can tell the OEM GM LGX (V6) Cold Air Intake is as yet unsupported for 2018. For 2016-2017 the intake comes with a code that gets you a free dealership provided tune that goes with the intake. I suspect they haven’t developed the tune parameters for 2018, which is why this year isn’t supported. There’s several aftermarket CAIs which will work, but they do not come with a tune.

I have 2018 V6 1LT , i went to dealership to install Cold air intake, when dealership called GM and gave them calibration code and my VIN, GM was not able to find any programming code for my VIN. What are my other options now? which after market are best , K&N? Flowmaster?

Contrats man. You’ll love it! Take care of it.
I’m in the same boat I’m 23 bought mine on my own. I’d rather work then blow my money on stupid stuff.

do the V8 transplant mod. :)
Just kidding. I'd personally save my $ and drive it stock for several months. Even the V6 is very good out of the box. Then later decide if you want to dump $ in mods. I've found that often you don't want to and are happy as is with the car. Mods can often be new car buzz thing that wears off.

Got that right. There’s one kid I met and he had a 5th gen 1LT and he has it tricked out, lowered, subs, underglows, and such. He drives like a asshat. He said his dad bought it and cleans it for him.

If I even lied about a grade I got the belt as a kid. I was lucky to get a toy from Toys R Us.

think i saw his brother driving dads ZL-1 a few days ago.he must have left a hundred bucks worth of rubber within two miles,on brakes,20 feet back from traffic, then burn out and giggle and repeat.
