Software update 01/2021
Anyone have any idea what the over the air software update was? What did it do?
When did it push out? I haven't seen any updates on my Infotainment system up to, and including, 1/9/2021 (since whatever update I installed back in June of 2020, I believe, unless it installed something on its own that I didn't catch).
Yesterday or today, seen other people on insta posting it too
Mine was yesterday, car wouldn't completely power down until it was installed. Very bothersome. No idea what it was for though.
If you are prompted, there should be an option to select for more info / details, and it should tell you A) what specific software build is being pushed and B) what the updates are intended to address.
Yes, something happened yesterday with one or more program updates that prevented my car's accessories from shutting down. You would turn off the power with accessories on and open the door as always, but accessories stay on. Yet, Chevy says they will replace the radio tomorrow (?)

Is this a 20+ deal? Just curious as mine won’t be started for another 3mo’s. |

As far as the car just sitting, don't sweat it. It will get the update pushed down to it (if it's available) when you bring it out in the Spring. Different hardware gets different updates. So the 2019/2020 cars would likely get something a little different than the 2016-2018. And then there's the variable of WHICH system is in the car. Some of the truck owners have been getting updates pertaining to bluetooth, climate control, and SD Card read error issues. |

I do know that there are a couple of truck owners saying that their experiences got worse with the specific update they received but I don't remember any of the specifics (model year, hardware, update build, etc.). |

Last one was a Note 2 that after an update it wouldn’t charge. Android blamed it on Verizon & Verizon blames it on Android. Luckily I had a policy on it so I just got the money for it. Had I not had that I would have been screwed out of a 6mo old phone. Now imagine this happening to a vehicle out of B2B warranty. Would GM still replace it? Inquiring minds be inquiring. |
