Exposed CF Insert Owners! Check Your Insert! GM Cust. Service/Fbodfather please look!

Hey guys,

My car has been sitting for 4 days since I got it (lot of rain and thunderstorms with hail here).

Today is a nice sunshine day; I open the garage, pull the car out into the sun and I see what appears to be cracks in my insert. The car has been driven 114 miles to this point.

Fbodfather/GM Cust. Service Please take note! I will be calling my dealership tomorrow.

Since people wanted to know: 2013 Model Year, VIN 285

For some reason I can't see your pics. I'll check my car as soon as I get home.

For some reason I've had the exact same problem on this forum. Sometimes I can see the pics and other times I can't. I normally use Chrome for my browser but when I can't see the pics I have to use FF or IE to view them. Are you using Chrome as well?

G-Oil Guy 07-29-2012 09:21 AM

I'm using chrome. I'm uploading to photobucket. one more second

G-Oil Guy 07-29-2012 09:24 AM

reloaded in first post. any better?

Taser Deployed 07-29-2012 09:25 AM

yes I can see them now.

RoketRdr 07-29-2012 09:26 AM

Yep...you can see them now.

G-Oil Guy 07-29-2012 09:27 AM

Any comments? I've noticed they're all along creases and seams.

I have a terrible crack in mine. 626 miles on it. I'll upload pics later. Not sure if it's from opening or closing the hood or what....

Have you called your dealer or GM Customer Service yet? If not this may have been the QC hold.

Haven't had a chance to call anyone, my wife just noticed it last night as we were leaving a meet-up in Longmont. I hadn't noticed it all day. Drove to and from Nebraska Friday/Saturday and never heard any rocks or anything hit my car. It's on the back side facing the windshield so it definately seems like a defect. Going to get the camera now.

I'll wait to see your pics before I do my weekend chores. I'm going to demand a full replacement.

I'll be doing the same, it looks hideous, it's a 2 inch crack. I'm worried about the same thing happening to a replacement.
