Tire Rack SC3 closeout

I was going to move to Pilot 4s but Tire Rack has SC3 tires on closeout for around $190. I got all for for $760 so I couldn't pass it up. They are 2015's but this car uses them up quick.

Great deal, just a little concerned about the 15 manufacturer date. Been sitting in a warehouse "conditions unknown" for the past 4 years.

TireRack's warehouses are climate controlled. I ordered a set of rears in May when they first put them on closeout for $233 a piece. They arrived in two days and are in fantastic condition. Just placed an order for the fronts. Wish I would have waited for this deal.

Yeah..good deal. Saw the 305's on eBay too for 175 each NEW. They are from 2016. Bought 2 immediately . There are still a few left.

Thanks for the lead. Just ordered a set $719 delivered. I’m at 3,000 miles on the original set and have maybe 3 more track days left so this is a good find.

(Don't remember where) I read that Goodyear was making compound changes up to the last minute on the G3's and later on the G3R's. Considering the 2017 ZL1's and SS 1LE's did not start shipping fairly late in 2016, I wonder if they are the "same" as what made production. Personally, I'd rather have a low mile take off set (of known commodity) for around the same price which seems the going rate. While durometer is not a 1-for-1 test of compound, it would be interesting to see that compared across the tread between a 2015 date and current.

Curios why the SC3's are on close-out. Are they trying to move product to make room for the winter tires or is Goodyear discontinuing them in favor of the new Eagle F1 Super Sports?

Moving them due to being old stock...the inventory with the cheap pricing as stated have a 2015 born on date. I highly doubt the ones with a current mfg date code are the same cost and/or being discontinued all together as I'm sure they are still being produced for current production.

I work for the DoD, 5 year shelf life on military rubber, it’s then gets scrapped.
Been a rule forever, I am sure modern rubber lasts much longer and they probably need room for new stock
