iOS 13 CarPlay updates
 

Finally can use an app on the phone and one on the screen. That always annoyed me.

You think any update on Chevrolet’s end will be needed though to run the maps through the HUD? I’m more excited for that.

It's certainly brought it up to date! Genuinely excited.

Getting carplay on the hud would require a GM update. That'll never happen.

Agreed, especially when GM wants to sell you a $695 NAVI factory option that puts the current speed limit and the next-turn for the turn-by-turn directions on the HUD.

I already have that though. People also said OTA updates wouldn’t be a thing but that’s a feature now as well...

iOS 13 only in developer beta right now, on beta 1 and public beta next month. Release in September along with new iPhones

ahh makes sense.. i haven't eve followed up on the new phones lol . wonder what else can they change now lol

I don’t believe Chevrolet needs an update for CarPlay iOS 13. The mylink or any other CarPlay act as a “mirror”. Changes and layout are all done in the iOS 13 software.

No one said Chevy needs an update for carplay and iOS 13 to work.

I misread OP question

I read what Iphones this will be released on and I will have to upgrade. Got a 6. So I am thinking of going to a 8 or an XS. Leaning more to an XS as that gives me a longer update life span. Might even get an 11 when they release it. For the time being I am sticking with my 6 and wait for the 11 to release then I think I will make my choice.

I’m on iOS13 beta 2 and it works on the 7” mylink. They’ve changed the look a little bit but there’s definitely no nav on the cluster. That would require a Chevy update, and AFAIK none of their cars have it still, years after Apple DEMONSTRATED it on a CHEVY!!!!
