2018 / 2019 ZL1 Canadian deliveries...Help needed.
 

Hey all, not sure if you have been following or are aware of my plight. Have a custom ordered ZLE due to arrive in a couple of weeks. To keep this short, dealer is insistent on charging me $10K over MSRP. They are stating it is the only ZLE that their 4 dealership group will be allocated, and that there is a premium on these vehicles. I was hoping that as the order process progressed, and I sent him requests for lowering or eliminating the premium, it might change. Well it hasn't. They appear to be holding strong. Pricks.

I get that production is limited for Canada, but from previous posts on this forum, I seem to be the only one that is on all fours and getting the proverbial reaming. $10K is a lot of money for me. On top of that, I can't feel but I'm being handled. Is the 10K a deal breaker on the day?....I'm not sure to be honest. Personally, I think the Dealer Principal or whoever is responsible for these policies should be taken out the back and introduced to a large rubber hose (Chevy Chase Christmas Vacation reference :))

I need some ammunition. What I would like to do is to put together a list of Forum members that have taken delivery in either 2018 / 2019. Included in that list will be YEAR, ZL1 or ZLE, LOCATION, DEALERSHIP and THE PRICE YOU PAID. My thinking is that I can take this list in with me when I finalize the negotiations, and see if the fact that I'm the only CHUMP out there to pay over MSRP might sway there thinking.

Probably not. But WTF eh?. It's worth a shot.

So......C'mon guys, start replying and I'll begin populating a database. Oh, and if anyone has any other ideas, please feel free to share. I'm all ears.

I personally would never ever ever pay over MSRP for any vehicle. To me that’s criminal.

This BS of charging over MSRP is why I will never darken the doors of another Ford dealership. All it took for Ford to loose me as a potential customer for ever is for one of their dealers to become greedy.

I thought the law in Ontario was your are not allowed to charge over msrp

Did you call GM canada and tell them you bought a car and the dealer is tackong on 10k?

OP is in BC I believe, but none the less, dealers can sell over MSRP just has to be disclosed.

$1,000 off of MSRP. I chose to get a "standard" ZL1, I could have ordered a ZLE. My allocation was for one.

This is excellent guys!! Keep 'em com'n. So far, it's MSRP or a discount. Not really making me feel very good about myself :( LOL
