2014 Z/28 @ Mecum Harrisburg 2019

Another Z to cross the auction block this Saturday.

#393 2014 AC car - 139 miles

It’s being advertised as never titled but in the pictures it has Ohio registration. Not sure how that works in OH but here in PA it would have to be titled to run a tag like that. Trofeos are gone too.

Any guesses on hammer price? Remember, add another 10% for buyers fee.

I say $55k and no sale.

Looks like there is a second Z there too 2015, late Saturday run. 100 mile car, black with AC. No VIN listed. I’ll be there Thursday and get it.

Even with only 139 miles, the lettering is coming off the FRC. I don't feel so bad:rolleyes:

I was at Mecum today in Harrisburg and laid eyes on both of these cars.

The 2014 is not as nice as a 136 mile car should be. Looks like something is going on with the paint. Lighting was bad in the area it was in, but the car didn’t pop like it should have. And the engine cover definitely has some paint coming off. Car did not have it Trofeos either. I’ll pull back my estimate, it sure how far back but it may not hit $47k.

The 2015 is number 1207. Car looks good, Trofeos in place with 100 miles. Car has tinted windows and then they blacked out the tail lights. Hood was closed. This one runs really late so I’m not sure what it will do, estimate says $60-80k.

Wasn’t my estimate, that’s what the auction or owner seems to think.

Auction Estimates are designed to help the enthusiastic, but less informed buyers have a target range for a car they know little about and ultimately help them feel like they bought a car at a good value if they buy within the range.

From all or our standpoint we would love to see both these cars trade at values above $60k, but that is pretty unlikely - but would be good for all of our values if they did.

Well, it cost the new owner $60,500 for the 2014.

Another 2014 Camaro Z/28 sold at Mecum at Kissimmee on 1/12/2019 with only 31 miles for $55,000 + 10% for Mecum's pound of flesh for a total of $60,500 so there appears to some consistency.

The 2014 Z/28 that sold today at Mecum was originally purchased by Chevrolet in Huntington NY and stayed in inventory along with another 2015 Z/28 which is why it was never titled. The dealer has been asking full MSRP until now. Personally, I have some concerns with any vehicle that has been siting for 4/5 years with such low mileage unless there is documentation to show that the vehicle has been maintained.

S79.1 just went for $55k. Not bad.

That was the hammer price. $60500 is what the buyer had to pay to get it out of the building.

S223 - the 2015 w/ 100 miles did 62,700, final value.

Basically both these cars have retained their value from when GM gave the big rebates from 2015 into 2016.

The_Raging_Bull 08-04-2019 10:25 PM

Great news, I knew two had sold prior to this at Mecum, and Barrett Jackson in the $55K range, plus Mecums cut of 10% and whatever BJ charges.
I say it bodes well for collectibility especially when Chevy stops making Camaros in ‘23.
No more Z/28s with 427s under the hood, and no more z/28s with carbon fiber caramic braked...wah-hoo!
