Suspension kits
Has anyone installed the GM Performance lowering kit (86773565) and sway bar kit (84401188). Curious if it’s worth it. I’m kind of particular and would like to keep my car all GM if possible.

I had the lowering kit on my V6, not only did it look great but as far as suspension compliance it was between FE3 (regular SS) and FE4 (MRC), overall good money spent, I went BMR for the sway bars so I have to opinion on the GM one but it should also be an improvement over stock

Thank you for the input!!! I know it’s probably cheaper to go with Eibach or something like that, but I’d prefer to keep it GM.

Not only that, but unlike the third-party solutions, the GM kit has new shocks that have the location of their travel centers moved to account for the lower ride height of the springs. You're not using the shocks in a vertical location that they weren't designed to be used at, which is what you're doing with spring-only lowering kits.

Anyone have opinions on the GM lowering vs Bilstein B14 kit?
The kits seem comparable and I understand Bilstein is still highly respected in the coilover/shock+spring game. |
I ordered my new LT1 with it - the GM lowering kit along with the upgraded swaybars.
Still at 2000 status but we'll see when the car comes in! |
Good point about the GM kit coming with the struts too, keeping proper geometry. I’ll probably order the kit and let y’all know how it goes!

Any pics of this kit? My 23 I ordered I added it.
