2016+ I4 LTG 2.0L - Aftermarket Performance Mod List

UPDATED 09/08/2019: List Overhaul - So I decided against the separate component list after some debate on my own time and shortened the in-development section to just a master list but will try to keep them in order and grouped together by manufacturer. I'll be adding some extra navigation for you all in the coming weeks as well as prices for some items after talking with mlee I determined it was alright from his go ahead. Some items will have price ranges because of core charges etc. I will not be doing direct product links to the items because that threads a very fine line on forum rules that mlee hinted on and i'll keep with what he's allowed as a generous token for us all. I will however be adding YouTube links for the exhausts as i continue to update.

Vendors, Manufacturers & Fellow I4 enthusiasts please feel free to add anything I may have missed. Manufacturers & Vendors if you have a release date planned PM me so I can add that to your In Development section. I will remind vendors and enthusiasts that I am not going to denote E85 Tuning most of the tuners offer this with their tunes. I will keep In-Development updated as best i can.
.

Tuning your 2016+ I4 LTG Camaro: The Know and the Cost of Dyno Tuning.

If you wish to tune your camaro on a dyno your first step should be to find a reliable close by dyno tuner if at all possible because dyno tuning is not always a one visit deal with this platform no matter what anyone tells you. Secondly make sure you have your mods already installed you can add more later but each tuner will charge different rates for additional tuning beyond your initial tuning. Now for the deep dive into cost using what most every dyno tuner uses HPTuners this will not include additional tuner dyno time fee's. Each universal Credit for HPTuners is $50 so 2 Credits is $100 for an easy breakdown. Lastly I would highly recommend you find a tuner that will allow you to use your own Device. Every device is licensed individually so if your tuner go's out of business or you have a falling out the credits you spent are gone and you will need to buy new ones for any new device/tuner you use. This get's very expensive. Having your own device is a good insurance plan anyways as your tuner can take your logs you sent him make adjustments and send a new tune back to you. You will of course need any windows laptop anything will work even cheapy $200 laptops. You do not need to unlock both ECM and TCM if you don't want to mess with your Transmission you can unlock just the ECM and vice versa.

HPTuners MPVI2 Device - Tuning Hardware - $299.99

2016 I4 LTG - 2 Credits to Unlock the ECM/TCM. I'm unsure if you need to spend two credits for each.
2017+ I4 LTG - 8 Credits for ECM/TCM. You will need to unlock separately it will cost 4 Credits each.
TCM HPTuners GM T87A Unlock Service. You will need to physically uninstall (Behind Passenger Fender Liner) and send your TCM for unlock to HPTuners. $200 +Shipping
HPTuners New GM Unlocked T87A - $399.99

2016 I4 LTG 2 to 4 Credits for Full Unlock ECM/TCM - $200 Before Dyno/Tuner Fee's
2017+ I4 LTG 4 to 8 Credits + Additional Fee's - $600 to $800 Before Dyno/Tuner Fee's

Excellent, all info in one spot, very organized.

P.S You should post a video on how your exhaust sounds with the flowmasters on there.. obviously it might be alittle different from just a stock 2.0, Im trying to decide if its worth it to buy or not.

Good idea! Nice and organized!

Well it's not stock sound but likely deeper then stock because of the hi-flow downpipe and intake. I'll try to get a video up soon and ty for the compliments.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not really sure how jlpearl did it I know he did the 4th gear pull and a 6th gear pull. Not from 5th to 6th but according to a few fun runs he said there wasn't much difference. either way just gonna delete my experience and keep it as a performance list because people just can't seem to leave well enough alone across threads. Your input is always pretty well and polite Jason others just like myself can't word for shit and cause issues.

Thanks for this, hope the list grows quickly. Would love if magnaflow made a catback sometime soon. Had it on an old Cobalt SS and loved it. Had trifecta tune on it as well.
Have you thought about getting a tune?

Ah yes, sometimes I forget about the other important things in life too.

On another note; I ran across a tune from RPM Motorsport. Has anyone heard of its' legitimacy?

Hmm, love the performance boost from the stage one tune and I would love to unleash that hidden hp and torque, but not at the expense of my warranty.
