1LE Brake Bleeder Swap
 

Hello everyone. I was searching on here and couldn't find concrete info. I want to install Stahlbus bleeder valves on my SS 1LE but I can't find the complete thread spec. I saw a thread that said they are M10x1.0, but how long does the thread need to be? Is it 16mm? If I get that figured out, I will update this thread with install pics and overall experience.

I’m sorry, can you explain what this is? I’ve never heard of this. Anything that can help or make easier I would appreciate knowing more…JM

They also make oil drains.

They're basically a two piece brake bleeder. The first piece threads into the caliper so you don't have to unscrew the part in contact with the caliper, thus not wearing the aluminum threads in the caliper. The second part threads into that and it has a spring loaded ball that acts as a one way valve so air doesn't get in as you bleed.

Form factor wise, it looks exactly the same as the Stahlbus. I am curious as to how it works though. There seems to be a different drain/hose part.

Thanks for the part number! Is this for a standard SS or does it apply to SS 1LE?

I would also like confirmation that 10x1.25x29mm is for the 1le. I looked at rock auto and I'm getting conflicting info. How critical is thread length?

I would think it's very critical that the thread not be too short as the bleed screw needs to bottom out in order to seal. Having one that is too long could be a nuisance if it is excessive and the screw can now contact something and be damaged, but that would have to be really long.

Stahlbus has a 10x1.25x20. That's as close as you get. I would love to do this. I have a lot of brake work coming up. If anyone knows more about 1le calipers or has installed these, please let us know. It would be a huge help.

This is another one-person method for brake bleeding. It's my preferred option. Just something else to consider.

I've got that setup as well. I'm thinking of modifying the cap so I can just hook it up to my air compressor. I have a machined cap that connects to a compressor for my Tacoma and it is cake to bleed that way; no need to keep pumping a reservoir. The nice thing about adding these Stahlbus bleeders is that you can use them in conjunction with the pressure bleeder for added confidence. I have this dream of just hooking up a bottle to each of the four calipers and bleeding them all in one go lol.
