Chuckwalla question

2 Attachment(s)
So I’m planning to be at Chuckwalla in Sept, I currently can run my RE-71s that have plenty of tread or my OEM Goodyear’s. My Goodyear’s are a bit low but would like some feedback on the pictures I provide. Any feedback is appreciated

They are in the same condition as well

kropscamaro16 08-07-2020 01:55 PM

you would have to measure them out but im sure they will be fine but id probably bring the extra tires/wheels also if you can

It’s with the SCCA, since we can’t get a autocross event planned in SD we’re going to the track now lol September 6

The Goodyears will handle the heat better. But the Stones will work fine also. I have run both of these tires on the road course (different cars though). If the Stones get greasy, just mix in an easy lap to cool them down.

BTW - I see you are a fellow autox'r. What tire/wheel size are you using for the Stones?

You could always drive up to Fontana. There are a few SD peeps that make the trek on autocross days. Todd and Gary have been coming up in their stang. David was up last month with his Lotus 7 thingy.

10-4. I am in the process of purchasing a 1LE for autox duty.

I was planning to use the 295/30/20 square Stones on OEM wheels, but it appears they are discontinued?!?

So is 305/30/19 square the current flavor? Our local 1LE autox'rs (National Champions in previous cars) are actually really, really fast on stock Goodyears.

And yes the stones setup is what’s in, however the Yokohama’s are a tad bit faster but only available in a size 18 😔
