Check engine light after exhaust install..

I just installed a GT Haus exhaust. 150 mi. Later I get a check engine light. Has anyone run into this before? Car only has 5700 mi on it.

Is there a way to pull the code off the driver information center?

I don't think so, you'll need an OBD-II reader, they are cheap on Amazon, small plug in dongle that hooks to your phone... $30-$50, WELL worth the investment...

no...that trick only works on Corvettes (a C5 can).

Probably P0300 like I just had:)

If it's a cat back, you probably have a small leak at the connection pipes.

I found a video on Youtube and ordered the Veepeak which should be here today. Once I find a 10 year old kid to show me how to use it, I will get the code smiling1:

The Code is showing as P0420 (Catalyst system efficiency below threshold Bank 1)

I have changed out more cat backs than I can count, I have never seen this before. Any ideas?

I had something similar after installing my long tube headers on my new ZL1. I had accidently sliced one of the wires on the wiring harness that extended to the O2 sensor. I would double check all wiring and make sure all connections are tight. Even though you might not have working around that area. I would double check all wiring connections for the O2 sensors.

You have a leak around the connection by the secondary cat. All you have to do is google code p0420 and 430, you will see how common this is on this platform. A tiny pin hole leak will trigger it.

There are no secondary cats, this system removes them. I will take it back to the shop and have them adjust to make sure there are no leaks.

Yeah, I put my Borla cat back and I have no issues, so it’s obviously the second delete.

snall exhaust leak will cause that code...start the car on ramps and feel for a leak at the front connection pipe area where the slip connection is located
