While it might be a rare option, it isn't a limited option like say a ZL1 or ZL1 1LE where the dealer only gets one if they have allocation for one.

I'm in Arizona and tax is not that way, it is like 8.9%, the only way you paid $400 in tax was with a trade, you pay the difference between the trade and the tax, if you buy a 40k car and u get 20k in trade you pay tax on 20k, not the 40k. $400 TAX is a sales price of 5000...... when I bought my 1le a month ago I talked to every big city dealer they were not that expensive

I paid 42,500 for a 1le per, illuminatedo Sills, and black bowties... but they gave me 21500 for my 2012 vert. Which is a lot of money in trade compared to other offers I got

I think 1 year registration was $650 or thereabouts. I politely told the salesman to pound sand if he thought I was going to pay this fee and that fee which is basically just cheddar for them anyway, so I got the price down to a point where I said $44k OUT THE DOOR, or I'm walking, and they agreed.

Minimum state sales tax on a vehicle in Arizona is 5.6 and that is not including city sales tax

Some dealers were getting nervous here in AZ, the 1LE was getting looks but few offers... I had 3 or 4 big dealers tell me their GM'S were nervous and they couldn't order more.....

Really love to see that paper work. Here is mine. :)

But then again no sales tax and reduce the processing fee I could see it. Man I love mine at my price but another 3k would have been sweet!

Where did you get yours from? I got my 2016 2SS from Watson Chevrolet down there and had a great experience. They have a 1LE sitting on their lot that i'm eyeing now.

Yes, and your trade probably made up some of the sale price, don't get me wrong you are in good shape. Not all states let you deduct trade from sales price for lower taxes, it really does help, and especially helps if you are upside down in a trade, I bought my Camaro used and paid a lot for it I owed about 23,000, but with the way the sales tax works, I saved about $2800 in sales tax. I'm not shocked you got a good deal, when I was working my deal I called every Chevy dealer in Tucson a deal Phoenix is, and they all said the same tons of looks but very few offers, the reason my offer was accepted is they had a buyer for my trade, MSRP was around 46k, I offered 42500 and at least 21k for my 12 2SS convertible, a small town dealer beat the big city boys, Phoenix dealers said thy could only give me 17K tops, we agreed on 43k, but Lawley Chevrolet in little old Sierra Vista, AZ made it happen, the sales manager said Mr. Lawley was mad at him for ordering because it wasn't selling, has anyone else heard that the 1LE's are getting looks but no offers? They said most of the ones who looked decided to spend a little more to get the 2SS, they also weren't allowing test drives on the 1LE, it had 4.2 miles when I bought it.

It sounds like the sales tax is the highest here in WA state, 9.5%.
I paid $39,700 OTD for a used 1LE with 800 miles on it ($36,400+tax+fees) which based on Arizona state tax percentage. I will need to pay up or the difference in order to register in WA state.

I was initially looking for a Nightfall Grey Metallic but blue grew on me also especially after I could find it at that price and since the car came with extended warranty (48k full /100k powertrain) ;)

Car should be here anytime today, yay!! :)

Lawley Chevrolet in Sierra Vista, when I talked to Watson the really didn't want to come down in price, and low balled my trade, I'd try and sell yours private sale, if you can, but unless you put a lot down trading after 1 year could be tough. In all seriousness unless your going to the track you might be better off keeping the 16 2SS, I want to take mine to the track, but not sure if I will, I bought it because it is different from the SS, but in reality I don't need the track pack, but can't wait to take it up to the mountains to Alpine..... it corners like a dream, if your 2SS has NPP and magnetic ride control I don't think you will see the difference in performance driving on the road, especially of you take a hit on your trade. Now if you are competing at a track. Another story, and if you do let me know we can go together and carve up some track

Phoenix dealers suck. I bought my SS Sedan from a dealer here in Phoenix and will never do business with a Phoenix dealer again. my Camaro I bought in Tucson and had a great experience like mentioned in my post above.

I track it all the time which is why I'm looking at the 1LE. NASA AZ and SCCA AZ. If you sell it private you don't get the tax break so that is a big selling point. Say I trade it in for $30k, that's the same as selling it private for almost $33k because of how the Phoenix tax break works on trades. Thanks.
