What trans is in both cars? What mods does the Vette have?

I can tell you that my basically stock 17 2SS 8A walks away from my buddies 2006 Auto vette from a Dig and we are almost dead even from roll.

If the vettes got Mods then its going to be be a race...

As for the op question its way too vague. But I’d say an ls2 vette with just a few bolt ons would be right with or faster than a stock 6th gen depending on what is done. I wouldn’t take one lightly if I was stock... but I’m far from it lol

agree C6 Vettes are low 12's stock...quite a bit lighter then 6gens. That is why the C7 didn't get any faster. The increase power was washed by the added weight.

C7's are faster... not a lot but prob .2ish in the quarter. Certainly not worth the 55k when you can get a C6 of 28k.. or C6 z06 for 35k ish.

Isn’t the stock stingray record 11.3? Which I have a hard time believing honestly after seeing them run multiple times in good conditions and hooking on a tire when near stock. They are about .2 and 2 mph quicker than an SS.

About 11.5 is as fast as I’d ever believe and would have to be hero air

I’d say about .2 quicker for the c7 over ls3 c6 sounds right

Yeah I dont know bout that 11.3 hero run but I'd believe 11.5 or 11.6. A simple Intake/Tune on and LS3 and you are even with a C7/LT1.

I know this is an older thread, but I had an 06 Base Vette with throttle body, LSX intake, headers and cat backs and a tune and drag radials that simply could not break into the 11s. My 2016 2SS A8 ran 11.8s with a CAI, DRs and a Diablosport tune. I'm on the fast list.

No it was an auto. It's best run was a 12.01 and I just couldn't get it over the line to 11s

I thought so too. But with the mods I improved my ETs by over a second from bone stock as I recall. I posted all my fast times on the forum. I loved that car and often wish I had kept it. I later had an awesome 2010 Grand Sport.
