Selling $3000 in GM Card points

Hello all,

I was going to sell some of my GM card points as many people on this forum do. I had $3000 in earnings and was going to sell them for $2000 ( seems to be what they sell for). My charger lease still has another year left and I may get a scat pack charger after that. I am in SE Michigan and could meet up someone who may be local so we both feel comfortable with the transaction. I have a advertisement I received in the mail that allows $3000 off 2015/16 Camaro until 2/29/16. I would ask your dealer first if you could use it though.

Frank

I have talked to Frank and he is legit and a good car guy.

bhavyas 01-23-2016 03:21 PM

So with these points, I will get 3000 off the car... so technically 1000 more off? How do I verify like the card has 3000 in savings... Sorry I dont know how this works .. So

dreamingat30fps 01-23-2016 03:50 PM

I'm not sure how this card works do you get like extra $$ towards buying a GM vehicle? If not why not get a regular cash back card and use the cash towards the vehicle and if you don't need a vehicle at least you have the cash?

VQ35DE 01-23-2016 06:49 PM

It's a free $1000 net rebate off the Camaro. Can be used with a private offer too.

jeffholley18 01-23-2016 08:14 PM

Would this be able to be used along with the GM College Discount program?

laborsmith 01-23-2016 08:35 PM

Except for GM Extended Family and for Business GM Cards, no. GM Family and the Business credit cards accrue at 1% to 2% and the rest at 5% if you are unsure as to which card you are using.

I believe the dealer would verify with the info I provide.

I have not used the card regularly in the last couple of years and had accumulated the earnings.

I would check with the dealer, I am not sure.

Just a FYI the person you add has to be added to your GM Card in order to use the points. When they call the GM Card that person you are adding has to be an authorized person to use your GM card.

When I gave my father points for his CTS I had to add him to my card.

Camarofanboy13 01-25-2016 03:57 PM

Can't u buy accessories with the points?

If you know your going to be buying a car it sounds like a pretty good deal. It will add up a lot faster at 5%.

VQ35DE walked me through the steps. You can choose not to have a card sent when you add them and they never know the full card number. That is why I was leaning towards a local sale so I can meet the person, so we are both comfortable. I do have a sale pending to someone at the moment.

Thanks for the heads up though.

That would be a nice option if GM allowed it.

I can see it being totally worth it if it was 5% back but the 5% is only on the first $5000 from what I read. So really you get $250 at best from the 5% then it drops to 2% which you can get with other cards as regular cash back.

VQ35DE 01-25-2016 11:04 PM

My card is 5% on every dollar charged. Unlimited amounts.

Which card is that? I have only been able to find ones with 5% on the first $5k.

Edit: Just found this

Quote:

Cardholders receive 5% back on their first $5,000 of annual purchases in the form of rewards dollars toward the purchase or lease of a new GM vehicle. After the cardholder’s first $5,000 of purchases each year, the rate of return is 2% with no limit and no expiration date. In contrast, the previous version of this card offered cardholders 5% back on all purchases, but limited discounts to a “redemption allowance” of $1,000 to $3,000 per vehicle.

Is it possible to sell GM Card Points that are on the original older GM card? If so, is there some info available somewhere on how that all works? I have like $2600 in points but can't use them in conjunction with GM employee pricing.

Yes you can.

Karma81 01-29-2016 01:41 PM

Does this work with Bonus points too? For example: your only allowed to use $1500 worth of earnings points, but they are offering Bonus points that can be used above the first $1500 limit. So technically you can use $1500 + $3000 Bonus points for a total of $4500 off MSRP.

Yes it works with Bonus Earnings too.

Agai , I'm interested if anyone is selling. PM me

bhavyas 02-05-2016 06:20 PM

Hey Guys,

So I have been in touch with Frank all the while I wanted to use the points. He is a great guy and if anybody wants to work with him on the points.. I would definitely recommend it.. He is a fantastic person to talk to..

Unfortunately I could only use 1500 of his points towards my car and so he still has 1500 points left if you are interested. He refunded my money promptly since I was not able to use the entire allocation of points.

All in all, he is a great guy and has some spare points you guys can use. So get in touch.

Thanks Frank.

VQ35DE 02-05-2016 07:32 PM

Yea, Frank is a cool dude.

The rest of the points have a sale pending.

Jeanius 02-06-2016 05:23 PM

Just curious why you could only use $1500

A representative at the GM Card points redemption center said I would have to add the person as a authorized user before the promotion started. I think it started back in late in November. I would have been able to use all $3000 for myself by 2/29/16.

96SS 02-16-2016 08:40 PM

I have $1500 in earnings available for $1000 for anyone taking delivery in the next couple of weeks.

BreedsAS 03-04-2016 01:09 PM

Here is another positive review regarding the transaction I had with Frank! I purchased reward points from Frank and used it towards the purchase of my 2016 Camao 2SS. The process was smooth and clean.
He is a very trustworthy guy to use.
Do no hesitate to use him if you are looking to save money on your purchase. I saved an easy $500!:hail::hail::clap2::clap2::thumbsup:

I sold the last remaining points to BreedsAS. I sent you a PM on how the process works in case someone else sells points in the future.

96SS 03-19-2017 01:57 PM

Have $1500 in points available for $1000 if anyone is about to make a purchase soon. PM me. Thanks

96SS 05-06-2018 05:33 PM

I have $2200 in bonus earnings available for $1600. However, the advertisement mentions you have to be an authorized user as of 5/1/18. If someone is not allowed to go over the $1500 limit for the Camaro, I will sell $1500 in earnings for $1000.

PM me, my feedback can be found in this thread.

Thanks

Frank

does anyone have points to sell - i might be purchasing this weekend.

Trbizwiz 06-21-2018 11:45 AM

I’m a new member. I have $4250 in GM points on a buy power card. There is no redemption limit, or restrictions on GM car selection. I had been saving them for a new car, but the wife needs a new van, and she wants the Pacifica Hybrid. So I’m looking to liquidate my GM points. Let me know if you’re interested. $3100 for $4250

Trbizwiz 06-22-2018 02:32 PM

Still have those GM bucks if you need a new ride before the Holiday weekend. Mine are buy power so no redemption limitations. These are not bonus drive or anything either. These are actual earnings, so there is no prequalification date.

Points still available.
Unfortunately they will not work with the Chevy employee pricing, but I believe that is the only restriction.
I have spoken to Becky for another member, and she has confirmed the point availability, so if your not using employee pricing, this is a great way to save.

Can confirm, Trbizwiz is a legit guy. Unfortunately the points wouldn't apply with the rebates I was taking advantage of, otherwise I would've bought them.

Good deal!

Which rebates would not stack with the card ? Not talking about employee and supplier. Not sure they were correct on that .
