Octane Booster Question
I have read some posts here that the stock 2018 ZL-1 will respond well to high octane fuel, potentially delivering an extra 20-25 horsepower. We only have 91 here in New Mexico, so I was wondering if some octane booster would do the same thing as 100 octane gas.
Does anyone have some input about this subject? Thanks. Mark R. Albuquerque NM |

Good info.
Sort of off topic, but has anyone ever looked into a dealer doing a legit flex-fuel upgrade that would retain warranty? Just spitballing. |
No they wont do it unless it was a actual option for the vehicle. It's bullshit too...all GM GDI engines should come with a flex fuel sensor.

I’ve used Race Gas brand race fuel concentrate in mine since the 1st fill up. It’s not just semantics, you want race fuel concentrate of whatever brand not octane booster.

As stated before use a Race fuel concentrate. Boostane, Torco, and Race Fuel. These are not boosters. They are actual concentrates.
I would use Boostane Pro at 4oz every fill up. One can will last you 8 fill ups. |
Where’s a good source for Boostane? Typical auto parts stores? Haven’t really ever looked

Thanks for all the input.

Torco is good stuff too.

I saw on YouTube where Demonogy made 90 more whp on just Boostane allowing him to use the hot tune for race gas from the factory. What’s the chances GM could give us a hotter tune for higher octane fuel?
