July Update #18-NA-355

1 Attachment(s)
Anyone have a copy or link to the most recent shudder TSB? Looks like no diagnosis required if built before March 2019 based on the July update. Only customer complaint needed for dealers to perform the flush. I think I may have the start of the symptoms and would like to have documentation in case I run into a debate with the service department.

I pulled this off the Colorado forum but haven’t been able to get a complete copy.

that's interesting if it's no diagnosis required now

I know you got this from the Colorado forums but under the correction, it said “Diagnosis beyond the customer complaint is not required if vehicle was built prior to production dates indicated above” Do you know what the production date(s) would fall under?

See below...as indicated, I would like to confirm with a full copy of the update if anyone has it.

Did we ever find out more about this? Was it Colorado specific, or would camaros built after the 3/19 date have the same new fluid?

i just took my car in two weeks ago for the shudder and they pretty much took my word for it and did another trans flush (first one lasted 4k miles). I have just under 100 miles so far and not issues.

Same here...took my word for it

Took mine in a couple of months ago as I could feel the start of what I felt was the shudder, tech couldn't replicate the issue so no repair done. After seeing this TSB on here, I called the dealership, brought the car in and showed the service writer the TSB from this discussion, service manager agreed and they did the flush on Aug 13, car shifts smoother, no shudder and hopefully no more issues.

I'm pretty happy with my local dealer, even though I didn't buy the Camaro from them (bought when I was posted away in the RCAF), they've been great with me. My wife's next car may come from them.

Thanks OP for the information on the TSB, saved me a lot of grief as I wanted to take the car on a very long trip but hesitated to because of this pending issue.

Okay , my 2016 2ss has developed the shudder. (only 12K on her ) I've read numerous posts here. The latest July TSB with the Tranny flush/ fluid replacement with the Mobil 1 . I took my car into a local dealership here in Philadelphia (not my purchase location). I laid out the issue I was having and showed them the TSB's . They took the car in and 20 mins later I was told the tech was unable to duplicate the shudder and they wouldn't perform any repair on the car. They attempted to charge me $165 as a service fee to check the issue . After some back and forth the service manager told me even if the tech was able to duplicate the shudder, it would not be covered under my remaining 2 years of Drivetrain coveage! She stated that its just a fluid issue and those are not covered! So i asked her that if i got a routine tranny flush would they replace the original fluid with the new recommended Mobil one product. She says yes and shows me the container of Mobil 1 LV ATF HP fluid .... and of course they didnt have enough to complete the job....so my car is setting there waiting for the fluid to arrive in the morning ! Now its going to cost me $249 for the flush!!!!

@aj1203: you might want to call them back ...

I'd find a new dealer. You shouldn't have to pay for something like this under warranty
