High RPM
 

The other day I took the car out and did a little-spirited driving. (2ss A8) I was getting on the highway and gave it some gas, it shifted into third. At this point, it kept pulling and I watched the RPMs climb over 6400 at 91 mph and it wouldn't shift into 4th. It then seemed to fall on its face. I let off and it went into performance mode. I toggled to manual then auto mode. This usually takes it out of performance mode. However this time it didn't. It just held the gear. I slowed to 50mph and toggled it again. Everything went back to normal. The car shifted fine after that. I did not have any nanny lights come on. Has anyone encountered this before?

It happened to mine once. Took the car in to the dealer and they updated the software.
