Header Heat?

Does anyone know how hot headers get after:
  • Track day runs
  • Driving around town stop/go
  • Freeway driving, interstate cruise
I want to purchase some heat resistance tape to use in different areas under the hood and starter solenoid, it resists direct heat 400f and radiant heat to 2000f.
Not sure if this is good enough especially for the starter solenoid, and I don't want to use a blanket, seems like I'd have to remove the starter...no, no.

You didn't get ceramic coated headers?

Yes I did, but just wondering if the OEM starter heat plate will be enough to protect it from the headers, since it is kind of close.

Crusing..mine are around 900ish. WOT I've seen high 17s low 18s. But the ceracoat helps alot with dissipation

Dayum!
That's hot!
That starter heat shield may need a little help after all.

Thanks!

OP....my headers are ceramic coated but I went for a lava starter shield from heat shield products. Put it on same time I installed headers. No issues with heat tracking the beast in south Florida mid-summer. At least none so far:happy0180:
