Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 + on SS?
To those of you who have put Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 + tires on an SS, are you happy with them? How have they been for you? I am strongly considering these for my 2016 SS. There is too much time here in New England where the temp is below 40F that could still be good driving for me to stick with summer tires.

Michelins are much loved in this sub-forum. Mainly the PSS, but the A/S 3 gets love too:

They are great all season tires, the fronts grip very well in the dry, they are a little loose on the rear if you plant your foot into them, but most times the TCS will catch that for you. They seem to wear well and are awesome in the rain. Just don't expect them to be the stock Good years as far as traction is concerned.

Thanks for the comments/info, guys. I think they will be a good choice.
Unfortunately, the shop I wanted to use turned me away because if a car came with runflats, they won't put anything else on. |
I had them on an F80 M3 - they were great until the snow showed up. I'd imagine that would hold true for the Camaro too.
They're awesome dry cold tires, just don't expect to go anywhere when the white stuff is falling. |

I have them, though not on an SS, for daily use and maybe if it's absolutely pouring for an autox. I'm super happy with them. They're very much a "performance" all-season in that the sidewall is stiffer and they have better grip than others in the category. I've heard that snow is kind of their downfall, but I don't have any personal experience with that. Though I don't think they'd be as bad as a summer tire. It gets cold and snows here in NC occasionally, so I wanted a daily tire that wouldn't be totally useless in those conditions like a summer tire is.
I haven't hooked up the G-meter with these tires on, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was near 1 G. The new Michelin All Season 4 pulls 1 G on the new C8, so I would expect that these aren't terribly far behind. |
I've had cont. dws06 and the as3+ And prefer the as3+ by far. The dws06 may do better in snow, but since you don't need that, as3+ for the win!

My next set of tires.

Guess I'll go be poor somewhere else with my General G-MAX AS-05.

Pretty sure I am going with the BFG comp 2 plus A/S for my 10-spoke 50th wheels. Ugly tire, but feel like a little variety is in order. |
I went with a square setup on my SS with the A/S 4's. I haven't put them on yet but I found a lot of info on the 3 and 3+ vs the 4s. That helped me pick the 4s over everything else

Next question: Do I dare trust Town Fair Tire to do the install work? The manager says they will use torque wrenches to 140 ft/lbs and that their lift should be fine for the car. Says Corvettes are even lower and those are no problem. |
