PPF Rockers and in front of rear wheels on a 2ss.

Camaro6,
I have a non 1le car coming. Do I need to have the area in front of the rear tires covered or the rockers? I know the 1le tires are wider and cause more issues just wondering if it's the same for a non-1le car.

Thanks!
Peter

I'm going through the same decisions...I asked in another thread (below, posts 20 - 27). FWIW, I'll be installing rock guards and think I've decided on getting PPF on the areas shaded in red in post 20 (as well as putting on the front fenders/hood/bumper).

2020 2SS (NON-1LE) and this is the area I had PPF'd, I am VERY happy with the results... 5,000 miles and not a single stone chip...

To the OP yes, i had a non 1LE and 1LEs and the same issue, the 2018 2ss non-1LE i had was black and still had rock chips even above the rocker line in front of the fuel door.

I used clear vinyl wrap thinking it was ppf when i ordered it on amazon and it was more tricky but doable. I used knifeless tape to make the shape for tje desired area and cut easily. There are 2 bubbles i need to pop, lol

Yes you will want PPF on the spats (area in front of the rear tires).

I recommend PPF on all forward facing surfaces up to the limit of your budget:
nose, spats, hood, rockers up to the body line on the doors, mirrors, etc... (like 2SS Capt's post above)

$15 universal mud flap on the front will solve all these problems. You can trade off a little style for superior protection. ZL1 add on's are a good product but as I've told them they don't extend down far enough.

for the little extra cost it would be good to do infront of the back Wheel compared to the rest of the car would be a good decision ..... passing cars can throw up stone chips to ..... you may want to consider doing the a pillars and 4-6 inch leading edge above the whidshield too they get chips there too .... just a thought
