JacFab Valve Review (Short)

2 Attachment(s)
So I was lucky enough to throw my money at Jason@JacFab and get in on the first production run of the valve, and I've finally had enough time to collect data and really get a feel for what it does for the car.

The most obvious thing initially was what I would call a "smoothing" affect on power delivery. The car just felt better, there wasn't that obvious "oh, here comes the turbo" feel. Throttle response was noticeably improved as well. Once you hammer down, it was pretty obvious the power came in sooner, and was holding more boost longer. Installation was a breeze, and there is even a video for anyone who may need some help. Once installed(one of my favorite parts), the valve is practically invisible. Thats a big perk for you guys under warranty, or perhaps you guys doing any "Mexico" racing! Quality shames the OE part in design, function, and built quality.
This is a highly functioning, well made bolt-on that I would recommend to anyone, tuned or not.
Now:The numbers!!!
Some of you may have seen the test done on a bone stock GM tune
VS bone stock GM tune with JacFab valve. The bone stock tune held more boost, and made more power across the entire powerband as seen with the data in HPTuners.
For those that didn't see that, here it is.

My car was previously tuned, and I made O adjustments too my tune while testing the JacFab valve. Pretty much the same results. More power, and more boost earlier is show in the data inside EFILive. Here are some results.

Does it make any sort of sound such as like the CAI's? Hissing?

Not to be a dick but I know it's coming, your desired boost is higher in the comparison pics! Come on, keep the desired the same and if it the valve is working which im sure it is, the actual should be higher and smoother. I want this to work as much as the next guy but you are giving us nothing to compare real results.

Desired boost? The point of this valve is to not bleed off as the factory does..boost levels will increase as shown in the diagrams due to the valve.. it’s the entire point of the valve.

Hoping the no-tune version produces noticeable gains as well.

Ah... this this makes a crazy loud blow off sound paired with an aftermarket CAI. I think the stock air box won't make it sound as loud. Sorry for the shitty video. It's kind of hard to hold the camera, drive and shift the car at the same time. I'll try to get better footage and sound quality.

Sort of sounds like the new DTM BMW 2.0 Turbo for next year.

The valve makes no real sound it just enhances what your hearing through the CAI. This is not the StrictlyLTG valve that serves zero purpose other then noise. i think he may have been referring to. I could be wrong though.

Haha, thats funny you guys mention the sound aspect of the valve. I didn't make mention of it because I thought I was crazy, or that my Bose was picking up a different frequency and feeding another back through the speakers, but yeah I could swear I hear an almost quivering sound sometimes that I didn't have before. Now my car is bone stock all the way down to the air filter,(as far as bolt ons go) so my car is very quiet. Im not sure I would ever hear it if I had exhaust. But, IDK?..

No, I'm not referring to the worthless StrictlyLTG valve. I have the JacFab valve on my car. Just noting the different blow off sounds you are going to get with a CAI. BTW, the valve works great. I love it.

I'm 54 yrs old and an old school muscle guy. I love my car but air sounds belong on ricers.
