Please reply to this as I am curious as to how widespread this issue is.

I appreciate your help.

Not in your poll but I have a 1250 mile 2019 v6 8 spd car in the back yard and the trans slips all to hell when the car is cold during the upshift. It's only a matter of when before it makes a trip to the service drive drama.

I didn't realize they kept a 6 speed auto.

Mainly just know there is a big issue with the 8 speeds.

Had the latest fluid and flush procedure along with a new torque converter done about 25k ago, and it's been fine ever since. I still get the harsh 1-2 shift but only when the trans is completely cold, and I've found an easy away around that

Never had any trans issues but still got it done to get it out of the way

Brand new 2019 C7 had the shudder at 400 miles. Lemon lawed it for other probs as well.

Fixed after 2 converters and 3 flushes. Last flush with mobile one fluid.

Not on my SS but wife’s ‘16 CTS did it at 40k miles this past Fall. TSB 18-NA-355 fixed it. I believe her car is the 8L45 as it’s a 2.0T.

What was your easy way around it? Don't make a statement like that without telling us...

Thanks,
Jim

Thanks,

Haha fair enough. All I do is kind of gently let up on the throttle when it's about to make the shift, and it totally eliminates that harsh 1-2 shift everytime. It took me a couple times to perfect it, but once you get the acquired feel it works flawlessly. And of course you only have to do this when it's completely cold. If I let the car idle a few minutes it won't do it either

Reading for comprehension is always a good thing.

He said V6 8 speed. As in 6 cylinder ENGINE with an EIGHT speed TRANSMISSION!
