Lift Required for Supercharger Removal?

My car has an appointment tomorrow for a supercharger replacement. Is there a reason why the dealer would need to lift my car to remove it? I know the instructions from GM may be different than what we follow. I haven’t installed my lift pads yet and I don’t want to make a “dealer damaged car while lifting” thread.

Thanks

Probably just to lift it up a bit so the tech isn't bending over during the install. That would be the only reason I could imagine. Ask them if they have to use a lift that they use a roll on lift.

No need to lift. the work is all done from the top.

yep, lifting the car slightly definitely makes things more comfortable to work on.

Well, the car is at the dealer. I completely forgot to ask if they were going to lift the car, but I guess it doesn't matter at this point. Definitely going to install the lift pads before I take it in for service next time.

Why are they replacing the supercharger for?

It makes a loud "clacking" noise for the first 5-10mins on a cold start. They think it's the supercharger, which is what I thought initially. If this doesn't solve the issue then I think it might be the fuel line.
