ZL1 reduce clutch usage p17a2 set
I have a 2017 zl1 with 14k miles, no mods. Never raced but I do get on it from time to time. I did a huge burnout the other day all the way through first gear. It’s a manual by the way. Before I could shift to second it fell on its face and said reduced power, reduce clutch usage. I made several more hard pulls and not as extreme burn outs and it didn’t reoffend. Could the clutch have been slipping or can it do this from a big burn out? The code translates to clutch slip detected.

i think its from resting your foot on the clutch pedal during high excitement events where you might be pressing it in ever so slightly. i think i got this message the first time i drove my Z and was letting my foot rest on the pedal like i use to do in all of my other manuals. the Z just dosent like it. Or it may be something else but since i am more aware of my clutch foot while driving i have not had the message since
