I'm simply interested in what they are going to call these "more powerful V's". I surely can't see them being called XXX-V Blackwing since that engine isn't being used.

I always considered 'Blackwing' as more of a 'fan-name', rather than being a planned trim name from GM/Cadillac.

What will they actually call it? I'll bet ten cents on the ultra OMGWTFBBQ versions of -V being called ... Vsport. Because its sportier than the normal V, therefore Vsport. Its the smartest* thing they possibly could do.

The odd thing is that leaked photo shows from what I can tell the same V badge as the "lesser" CT5-V. You would think Cadillac would do something to denote that it's the high performance model.


Secretly hoping Cadillac actually listened and will be rebadging the current V models as Vsports.

Cool! One of the projects I worked on for Ed Piatek was a study of what key competitors and secondary competitors do for break in period. I remember discussing with him how for M3 / M4, BMW leaves some power on the table until after the owner has completed their break-in period and then gone to the dealership for their first oil change. I recall that he was very interested in that approach to enforcing the break-in regimen.

well that is a bit confusing. "Shutting down due to the virus" then "opening back up making something new". Kind of let's you secretly know something is amiss here.
