Cadillac ATS V steering/handling feel compared to Camaro SS 1LE
Have any of you 6 gen Camaro SS 1LE owners (or people that have driven one before) driven a Cadillac ATS V before? I know the SS 1LE is objectively more capable around a track, however, I'm curious to hear your subjective opinions of the ATS V vs the SS 1LE regarding handling feel / steering feel, etc.

I have... but I was well over a year between the two. I remember wanting the ATS-V though. So this wasn’t useful ;)

i drove one a few months ago and a cts v and i feel its very similiar to a camaro ss 1le but the power is different being twin turbo v6 vs v8 na

I looked at a ATS-V coupe last weekend with my Uncle before he settled on a 2018 Audi S5.
I think the ATS-V platform is sharp, power is nice as it is 464hp out of a twin turbo V6. With the proper mods and tuning should be really easy to get 500rwhp out of that platform. |
I don’t have any experience with one but, I think they’re priced a little too far out of my comfort range when it comes to performance for the dollar. A similarly equipped ATS-V would MSRP around $75k to match many of the bits that come in the 1LE. But man, would I absolutely love to own one.

The ATS-V is a blast to drive!
Trying to keep speed down is a constant as the car feels so good driving fast. With PS4's the car is a comfortable road car considering it's intentions. Compairing it to my ZLE , the V feels much more friendly on the street. The power is instant but is more enjoyable to roll on the throttle. Oh yeah I can stay off boost all day and still have enough to pass on the expressway. The ATS-V got a bad rap from the paid off reviews in the car rags. Rating an Alfa that wouldn't stay running superior,,,sheeesh |
Unfortunately the V6 is the only reason this car isn't the unanimous #1 small sports sedan! I currently am shopping this segment for my next car since the wife wants a 4 door car I'm torn between the ATS-V, AMG C63S, & M4. The bottom line is if the ATS-V had an LT1 it wouldn't even be a decision and it would already be in my driveway, but the engine sound is the worst of the class and I'm currently leaning towards the AMG C63 because of it.

The GM Auto is BY FAR the worst in class!!! I can only justify that Auto Trans if I can swing a used 3rd gen CTS-V price tag. |
I remember a test drive of a leading car magazine, mentioning that this cadillac handling was exceptional that the only thing missing was the Camaro's V8

If you’ve never driven another alpha chassis besides your camaro, you’d be amazed at how much of your handling comes from the chassis My experience in the cts and the camaro is the main reason why I would never consider a muscle car besides the camaro. The one part of the car that is the most important and the most difficult to upgrade is by far the best in it’s class, the chassis. |
Yes I believe it. I wonder which one would be the best driver's car between a ZL1 VS an SS 1LE, which one would give you more driving satisfaction on road and track? I'm sure that both would beat the mighty Shelby Gt350R muscle car
