ZL1 1LE Used $ in 2 years

Hello future camaro family ! I plan on buying a used ZL1 1LE in two years(about to be debt free at 48 and need a break), or a brand new ZL1 at that time. Is it possible that in 2 years a used ZL1 1LE can be had for $50K at that time? Or a brand new ZL1 for 53K ? I'm hoping some rebates and big discounts will be going on, the performance and price is so good, plus I have a 1972 chevelle with a 6.0 T56 magnum, Z06 clutch and quick time bell, I have twin borg warners S256 Im going to install next year. I just cant pass up this new technology, everybody wants me to get a corvette but why when ZL1 is so great and no overheating. And I have test drove a ZL1 and the ZL1 1LE , and I ride sportbikes and love curves. At 6,4 250 it will be snug but worth it right ?

No your not going to find a new ZL1 for 53k in this dimension or 2 years from now. You do know that that’s about 8500.00 below Msrp at this time? With inflation likely 63k in two years!

Who cares what’s happening in 2- yrs.

2 years yes. I? Now new? No.

Thanks ! I figured that it will be 2-3 years before the gen 6 ZL1 ends. I will buy new or used, I'm sure if there are new ZL1 on dealer lots there will be some discounts. There not flying off the floors or lots here in East Texas .
I figure a used ZL1 1LE can be had for 50k + I drove a ZL1 1LE 2018 with 1k miles for 64k, and a ZL1 6 speed for 57K with 520 miles. Some have been on lots for 6 months, shouldn't be a problem.

Revalot,

I'm in Longview. I went to Richardson to get my ZL1. I got it for $62,500....I would've been able to get it for 61 if I had a vehicle other than GM registered to my address.

Is Richardson in Garland? , I lived in Garland in the 80s I bought a new 1984 Z28 and I think it was Richardson they were really good to deal with. There was also a really good dealer in Dallas.

Flexhorn ! I would like to keep in touch with you for sure over the next 2 years, do you daily drive yours or just on the weekend? Peters in Longview has the red ZL1 with 520 plus miles, I drove it 3 months ago, I went to porsche of Plano least week and drove the ZL1 1LE , at a 1000 miles they had to put new tires on. The guy who had it must have track the car, the gold pins in the solid mount shocks was missing, and they said he has a garage full of Porsches, and traded the car on a new one. The ride on Plano streets with the joints in the pavement was so,so but here around Jacksonville, Bullard, and Tyler would be great. I know some back roads I could ride for at least 2 hours and never see a cop, which I work in law enforcement, a track day once or twice a year would be great, I just want to watch the reliability of the ZL1 in the long run. I have a crew max tundra and a Sequoia with only a few payments left and about to pay the house off, so I guess I would get that extra 1k off, If you go to any car shows I will bring out the chevelle and meet you I will drive to Longview if I haft to !

I just drive it to the gym each day and on the weekends. Company car during the day. Peter's wouldn't come off their list MSRP for me. I checked multiple states and feel I got about the best deal I could've asked for. Car rides great on the country roads around me.

Some guys are funny, LOL 53K new, nope
50k for used 2 yrs from now, YEP!!! easy peasy.

Before anyone bashes me, you can get a new 18 ZL11le for 63k here in FL. So a 2017 ZL1-1le used in 2 yrs is a no brainer,
Also keep in mind the GT500 will be out by then that will hurt the ZL1.
Everyone will want the latest and greatest.

In a few years yes on used and even less if gas keeps climbing the ZL1 1LE will be like the 5th Gen Z/28.

Fraxum 05-21-2018 08:00 AM

OP absolutely your dream of a $50K ZL1 can happen.
The base ZL1 is $62,500 Including shipping with the M6. $1,500 more for the A10. As for me I cannot live without a sunroof in modern Camaros so $1,000 more for that. The rest of the standard ZL1 options are fluff.

But you said $50K for a new ZL1. To get there you would have to be happy with a no option M6. That might be hard to find.

When GM sales get backed up they will go 20% off on cars that have spent too much time on a lot. And in the past some ZL1s have been included.

But you have to ready to be ready to jump on a deal and maybe travel far to fulfill your dream.

Here you go assuming no MSRP bumps:
$62,500 (Base M6 Zl1, no options)
-20%
______
$50,000

Be aware though the M6 ZL1 has a built in bog which makes the M6 quite a bit slower in the 1/4 versus the A10. The A10 has something like that too, but not as severe. Apparently the ZL1 E-diff might be a bit delicate.

But if instead you want more than the base car, in two years you will not have a problem finding a low mileage ZL1 for $50K or a little less. Most ZL1s have meticulous owners so your dream ZL1 is out there right now waiting for you.

Revalot 05-21-2018 08:17 AM

(Some guys are funny comment), I think you miss understood me, I want a ZL1 1LE used for around 50k with at least half the warranty or more left 30k or less miles prefer less, and 2 1/2 or more on years, I know clutch , etc is not covered.

If I get a new ZL1 I want to pay 53k or less 50K would be great and a steal. We will see on that nope comment, If a 520 mile car is 57k that's not far off, and yes florida has car $ cheaper 63k, I've watch $ there, so 63k -7,200 (1LE $)=55,800-
GM 1st time buyer 54,800
I don't think a dealership will let me walk away over
$1800? And I already thought about driving to Florida to save I just want to make sure all paper work will be sent to Texas for registration.

Revalot 05-21-2018 08:36 AM

Fraxum ! That's what I'm talking about ! A blue, red or white M6 with PDR is all I need, I'm hoping the bog issue is fixed by that time, but my 14R takes care of that hard acceleration need.
I drove to Dallas and got it for a little over 12k new with ttl. So I can wait for the deals, and at 6,4 the sun roof is a no go.
Thank you guys for all the comments, I'm just hoping I can hold out for two years !
