Rear corner of top popping loose

Recently I started getting a top not secure message, after a lot of poking around I can see its the passenger side rear becoming unlatched. When this happens I can see just a little bit of daylight come through between the top and the tonneau cover. I can also just move that section of the top a little bit by hand.

I can hit the button to close it again and it will close fully, but say I hit a speed bump or sometimes just come back to the car 10 mins later and it will pop loose again.

Has anyone else experienced this or know what I could adjust? Its out of warranty and I don't want to take it in right now since cash is kind of tight plus the whole covid thing makes it a PITA to drop and car off with my dealer.

Ok mods can close if they want. Posting the solution in case someone else has a similar issue.
A 10 cent clip was missing which was letting a pin slide out from the end of the hydraulic cylinder, and that pin would get caught on a surrounding piece of hardware. I had to pop off some interior trim to find it. I'm pretty sure even that simple fix would have been expensive at the dealership.
If anyone cares I can add a few pics.

Thanks for sharing. A pic of the before poroblema nd the after solution would be awesome. Its always good to be able to find the solution on your own!

Ok here are three pics.
A= This is the good side with factory clip in place
B= This is the one missing a clip and partially slid out, I first saw it caught on something with the top closed but don’t have a pic
C= All fixed but you can see scratches where it was getting caught against the mech.
Pulling the top of the interior panels wasn’t that bad, so exploring the system paid off, whole job took like 20 mins and that included looking for a clip that would fit and a tool or two.
Hope this helps someone someday

Thanks for sharing, did you have the clip at your house?

I had a variety pack of e-clips and found one that fit, bought he pack years ago for occasions like this. It’s not the same as the factory clip but doubt it can do any worse :smiling1:

Good to know.

Got a part number?

I’ll throw some of them in the trunk.

No part number, I think I picked up the variety pack at Harbor Freight years ago
