I havent even put my exhaust on yet. Sheesh. I'm happy with that I have. My eyes are on a 2015 911 4S. This maybe the only Camaro I ever own.

I'd rather play it safe and say NO.

I wouldn't trade in my car. I hope to keep it the first new car I have ever bought. Might consider buying a 6th gen a few years after it comes out.

A 500+HP camaro "core" edition where they eliminate ALL luxury crap they have now such as AC, power windows, power locks, rear seat, OnStar. Add larger radiator, carpet interior, hood and trunk lid carbon fiber. Better brakes and suspension. No fancy front facia. Just a bare bones street brawler. Hell, use black steel wheels for all i care lol.

You mean like a Mustang Cobra R? Or a COPO Camaro? :iono:

I know what you mean. Something most of us could actually afford.

Basically after owning and '11 which I paid off and now a '12 which is nearly paid off, I'd have to see the following criteria before even considering it:

-I've got the title for my '12 - no rollover loans
-the 6th Gen is truly, visually more appealing, smaller, lighter but can still fit me in the car from head to toe
-the 6th gen truly walks on the 5th gen in terms of lateral acceleration. Not "has potential too", or "if you do this", but rather, walks on it in the 1/4

If all three of those things aren't there then it wouldn't even cross my mind.

Don't care about a 6th Gen.
I'm keeping my 2013 ZL1 vert till I die.
I like it THAT much.

No not COPO. Street legal AND VERY AFFORDABLE. The Dodge Challenger is coming out with a core chally for $39K which will be basically a semi bare bones edition. Now I know we arent going to go in reverse so power lock and windows will be until they figure auto, touch screen or voice activated whatever.... But remove the luxury, add more horses and stabalize it with suspension upgrades and bring the price down say at LEAST $5000 less than an SS. Basic interior, no rear seat, no impressive rims, matte finish on maybe hood roof and turnk deck. Check out those Chally Cores.

Your in the market for the wrong car. Build it yourself or buy a Copo. Chevrolet won't release a general Camaro like that. This isn't the 1970s. You mean VERY CHEAP. Those Dodge/Chrysler "cores" your referring to isn't AFFORDABLE for most still. The Chrysler 300 SRT8 MSRPs are out there for $59k and the "core" version is $55k. They didn't take out any rear seats, AC, in that model, etc.

The SS 1LE could be considered a "core" for the ZL1 somewhat. 1LE is affordable at $35k for the 1SS. If your wanting a V6 get a LS and remove the seats, AC, etc. Affordable and cheap just the way your wanting it. Hell even GM sells the matte black vinyl for the hood and trunk that you want. The steelies are perfect for the "affordable" look your going for.

You bought a 2SS and asking for a cheap Camaro in other words with nothing electronic. Buy a golf car and drop a LS7 in it.

From past threads, I've come to believe that strippers, light-weights, etc..from the factory aren't gonna happen..."They just won't sell"...

Best to build your own when the price of these cars come down in a few years...probably do it cheaper than the factory, anyways....

I'm already committed to a 6th gen at some point (view my garage) but the question is whether or not I have to wait 3 years again for the hot gen 6 package (like the ZL1 in year 3 of gen 5) or will Chevy offer a 7.0 L normally aspirated Z28 in year one? I'll be waiting GM!!

ZL1

BoostedX2 02-27-2013 12:41 PM

Drove a manual ATS today--2.0 turbo. Loved the way it felt, shifts, handling, interior. Had a little less room inside than my ZL1 but when I put the seat back I could stretch my legs all the way out. It even had more headroom than the Camaro with sunroof. I think the 6th gen is in good hands, especially if we can share some of the cadillac paint magic...

mr02Z/28 02-27-2013 04:38 PM

I will possibly sell my 2002 Z/28 depending on what the 2015 6th Gen has to offer or I will just outright buy one.
