I wouldn’t want mine either if it was built by Hennessey.

For what they charge for this car, at a minimum could at least put some nice (and wider) wheels and tires on it considering it can fit them and should need all the contact patch it can get.

They can also rotate the tow hook 90deg. Maybe this is the way it's intended and I'm use to seeing them vertical, but looks goofy being sideways.

They have the most impressive facility that I've ever seen, and their prices reflect it.

Limited edition? Sure, that will help it sell but I wouldn't ever let them work on my car.

lol, I see Hennessey hasn't lived down its rep from a few years ago. I guess I shouldn't expect too much from a company that sounds like a beverage.

Disagree. Perhaps not with everyone, but they worked on 550 cars in 2019 so they must be doing a lot right.

Well, you are the only one defending them on this forum, and you are also a Hennessey customer.

I am the only Hennessey customer here. So, I have firsthand knowledge of how they do things, now. Everyone else relies on hearsay and rumors.

I doubt any other shop does 550 cars or anything close to that.

I enjoy their videos.

What’s the real world cost of having a reputable shop do that work to a brand new ZL1?

Just trying to see how far off the mark it is for having the “Hennessy” name.
(I’m in the camp of Hennessy sucks also. I still remember the shady viper days)

Just because someone is still in business and does volume doesn’t mean they’re honest/good etc. Lots of deceitful crooks out there that are still in business. It always catches up to them at some point.

I heard that they were bad with holding onto customer cars for longer than they should've, and that they were using money from future orders to pay for current customer builds (essentially a pyramid scheme).

I've heard that Jalopnik isn't great journalism, but this isn't the only publication that I've read about Hennessey issues. I can't remember if it was Car & Driver or Motor Trend, but they also listed the issues with Hennessey. I'll steer clear for now as where there's smoke, there's usually fire.

They picked up my car and two weeks later it was in my driveway. I've had zero issues with the work they did.

But you can save a few bucks by calling your local Mom and Pop shop.
