Wheel Size

What's your guess? Wheel size would really give us a good idea on overall vehichle size. These don't look like standard wheels to me, somewhat like upgraded wheels we would see on 5th gens with the RS Package or an SS.

I'm thinking these are 20 inches, which is interesting considering the biggest you can get on the CTS are 19s factory. Certainly aren't 18s.

This car has never looked ATS-sized to me, always a bit bigger

I'm hoping for 19's and no bigger in the performance package trim.

I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a 19 and a 20...

whatever they are in this pic is good with me.

Yeah, most can't. I've worked in a wheel shop, from all over the vids and pics we've seen.. I think we've been seeing 20s on these cars

Looks like the ATS tops out at an 18" and the CTS at a 19". Not saying that they couldn't open up the wheel wells to accommodate 20"s on the Camaro but it's not been necessary on its stablemates.

Caddy's also tend to go with a slightly larger sidewall for a softer ride. Most don't get Caddys to rampage the auto-x track and those that do are going aftermarket.

I think that used to be the case, upper lever trims come with low profile tires

But there is more sound deadening in the wheel wells on Caddys which could probably limit wheel size. The Camaro would not have that problem.

I would take those wheels just the way they are, whatever size they may be. They don't look too big, and they don't look too small.

fradaj 02-13-2015 12:48 PM

I would guess that they are 20" but depending on how much smaller the car actually is they might be 19"

Dexman1349 02-13-2015 03:37 PM

I hope they aren't 19". The tire selection for that wheel size is horrible.

Keep in mind there is far more involved than just "opening up the wheel wells"

You could put 21s on it if you had a 15 aspect ratio.

The structure in the architecture will limit tire size more than the fender.

What is this "15 aspect ratio" you speak of? im intrigued.

Aspect ratio of a tire is the sidewall height of a tire... for example a 245-55/16 tire has a 55% aspect ratio(55% of the tire width)..... a 15% aspect ratio is very low profile, kumho offers a 385/15ZR22 tire
