One too many drops I guess

Here's the preventive solution once you glued it back on: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B079432FRM.

Looks great, fob still works fine and has the same range. I bought a red and a black one, wish Chevy had the same power reduction feature with one of the keys as Dodge, my wife is a bit afraid of the car.

Lol, I always thought the red key being Dodge’s thing for big horsepower. I have another key which I can’t get programmed but the external shell is something I can take apart and swap. Might paint it tbh

My little Chevy emblem went missing after a trip to the dealer for service. They wouldn't replace it.

A little Gorilla Glue will fix that.

And that's why I put my key in a little pocket like this. You don't really need the key out of the pocket, anyway.

Well, there is the mode button, which changes how the throttle responds to your input.

Other than that, just don't stick your foot down too far when driving? I don't see why anyone should be scared.

The black Hellcat key reduces the power of the car to just slightly above the 392 SRT level(~500 BHP), which is still a lot. It's cool but it doesn't really think makes a difference if you don't know how to drive. If it cuts the power to ~250 BHP then it may be a legitimate difference, but that's way too lame for a car like that.

Makes total sense, of course, but then these fears are typically irrational. She is used to her relatively weak SUV where some healthy throttle action is required to get it going and around other cars, plus the Camaro is pretty loud, which fuels the worry factor. I told her to set the car to snow/ice mode, then never try to floor it and never even go close to the mode button or, God forbid, the traction control button :smiling1:

Having a key that locks down mode and traction settings, forces the car down to 250 hp and limits torque could be useful. It would also feel special and cool, even though we know it's a gimmick ;)
