HPTuners credits?

I’m sure this is probably the most basic question ever, but I can’t seem to find an answer for this anywhere.

I just had my car tuned by a tuner using hptuners and paid for the credits for the tune (4 I believe). If I were to decide I want to go with a remote tune or use another tuner and buy a mpvi2 to own, will I have to rebuy these credits to be able to tune the car?

I was under the impression once the credits were purchased it would license the ECU and not the device. Am I wrong?

The credits are licensed to the HP Tuners MPVI2 interface. Did the tuner use his own interface, or did you provide yours? If he used his, but you want someone else to tune it, you’re paying for the credits again. So, if a newb reads this, get your own interface that way you own the license. ;)

At least you learned it before you tuned the TCM and FSCM. :)

Besides, you need your own setup anyway for data logging.
