That’s an old picture of the ZL1 1LE with a low wing they never used. I’m guessing they were considering the ZR1 route, with a low wing and aero option.

Apparently, I was wrong. This car has been popping up more recently.

https://www.motortrend.com/news/2023...kwing-upgrade/

"According to a source deep inside GM, the Camaro ZL1 (and likely the higher-downforce, more track-focused ZL1 1LE) will be getting some Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing-inspired goodies for their last two model years."

https://www.musclecarsandtrucks.com/...5-v-blackwing/

"Considering that Motor Trend tends to get the headline right but the details wrong, the accuracy of this latest report is suspect. For example, it would be near impossible to retrofit a Camaro with MR 4.0 technology. It’s not just a damper change, as we recently interviewed GM’s magnetic ride suspension guru, and you can read all about those details here."

Would the CT5 carbon ceramics fit the ZL1 or either 1le models?

Yes.

Definitely a ZL1, if it as a Z28 it would most likely carry the same updated SS fascia. Just like the 5th generation when it resembled a track ready post-facelift SS with a more powerful motor in it.

What will be the last year of V8 powered Camaro?

That part of the script has probably not been written yet. And if it is written, only the writer has seen the copy.

As a product planner turned forecaster, I would suggest 2024 or 25.

Good guess.

I’m not aware of any upcoming safety or emissions challenges that would force significant investment.

That being said, GM is devoid of any products running around with Camo. Lyriq is available soon. Hummer EV soon. Now since both have been shown that eliminates the need for camo. But how many spy shots? Not many. Saw more of the Hummer on Woodward. So they either have a gap in product or they are doing it differently.

Seeing as how everything will be BEV3 or BET platforms, we could possibly be seeing development products running around without camo with a familiar tophat. For example, what looks like a Hummer could be a Silverado.

Rivian did that. They had the R1T platform running around looking like camouflaged F150.
