Tint %

I have an appointment next week to get the beast tinted.

Just curious, what % did you go with and why???

Updated:I'm aware of the law, I am not concerned and that's not my question here...please

35% is what is legal in most states and allows a good look and still you have night visibility
20% is on the edge of being legal and a nice dark look, night visibility is ok, not perfect
Anything less is illegal and pretty stupid, IMO

This is 20%

Depends on your states laws.

I went as dark as I could without thinking I would get stopped. 15-20% is darker than legal here but figured cops wouldn't bother above 15% and they haven't. Granted, if I get stopped for speeding it might open the chance for them to check.

20 or higher looks good cosmetically and it doesn't hinder vision. 1-14% will attract attention. I did 10% (after the factory hue it was probably closer to 7-8) on my last car and that was stupid. Couldn't see anything around me at night.

Thanks for the pretty commonly known information, however you neglected to answer my question entirely...

Sweet! Do you have a pic of the 15%? Preferable in the daytime? Sorry for being so specific but I want to make sure I get the right number!

Did 5 percent on the back and rear side windows. 30 on front side windows. 5 on back is fine for day. Irrelevant at night as you won't be looking out rear window except through rear view mirror.

Thanks for the pic!

Mines going in for tint on Monday. I'm going with 15% on the back and rear quarters and 30% on the fronts. My guy uses Llumar and I'm getting ceramic. I had this combo on my last two cars and I really like it, plus the cops in my town haven't ever hassled me about the two front windows.

20%, daytime but overcast.

Why? I went with what the installer suggested, and I am pleased.

Check your State Laws for the %. I stuck with 30% because that's what is legal but that wasn't the only reason. I've had 15s and 20s before, night time is a pain with it. Can't see crap when you are parking for example and gotta roll down the windows... I also went with Ceramic tint and Air80 on the windshield.
