305/45/17 ET Street R Tire Pressure?

Just picked up my RaceStars & 305/45/17 ET Street R's today

Was curious what kind of air pressure everyone is finding works best. Seems like a lot of people I talked to are running in the 18-21psi range.

Unfortunately the tracks are not open here yet, so street tuning and Dragy #'s is the best I have to work with for now.

Yea... all closed down here as well! You want to run as much air as you c an in them... My power level I run 18Lbs with a 1.42 60Ft. Same exact tire I run!

Thanks 2018ZL1,

Yeah that's the plan, probably start around 18 and work my way up until i start to see the 60's drop. Was just curious what everyone else was running on these cars.

Hopefully the tracks open soon!

I'm running Hoosier, but they could be relative. Last time I ran, I was dead hooking with 24. I've mostly ran 18 to 20. All depends on the track prep and conditions.

Around 20 was what I found to hook the best at the track, I run them at 25 on the street.

My best 60 ft is 1.35 with the same tire on 19 psi.

Thanks gents,

The temps dropped here the past day or so out of the blue, we actually got some flurries this morning. So will have to give it a few days to warm back up again so I can make a run to Mexico and give these a try... :mad0260:

Is anyone changing the tire size scaling in HPTuners to keep all the mph/etc in proper calibration when running the DR's vs Street tires?

I haven't physically measure the height difference between the stock wheels, although I'm sure it close.

305/45/17 is a 28 inch tire just like whatever the stock 20s have on them.

I had that same tire before and there is no question that it's taller than the stock SS tire. Made the unadjusted speedometer read lower.

Yeah I haven't measured the difference yet, but guessing its slightly taller.

I am not too worried about the speedo being off, but alot of the trans related stuff like shift points are based off mph I believe so I would like to keep it consistent.

I'm not sure what you guys are talking about but a 305/45/17 is a 28 inch tire just like the stock 20s. If it is different it is by a very small percentage like .20 or something and won't affect the speedo enough to even worry about.

I just looked it up and the stock tire is 27.58 and the 305/45/17 is 27.8 which is not enough difference to even notice.
