2019 Camaro over the air updates
1 Attachment(s)
Hey everyone, I got in the car today and started her up, and on the center screen was a notification saying I had two updates for the car, one for Onstar and one for the infotainment.
Attachment 971739 I thought it was pretty cool and wanted to share. I was never clear on if the 2019's would do over the air updates, so to see it happen is fun. Did the 2016's-2018's have over the air? I never got it on my old car, but I may have just missed it somehow. Thanks! |
Not sure but I'd like to know for sure

I'm assuming you would need OnStar activated WiFi for an update? Or not?
|
I do not have WiFi on my '19 and got my 2nd update yesterday-don't know what was actually updated...

I also got the update the other day.....no idea what for.....

Everyone with a 19 has wifi no matter if you use it or have it activated. The updates are done regardless. Most cars made now have this feature for the auto and HVAC system. The 16-18's needed to be updated at the dealer, they don't automatically do it.

Cool tech. About time.

MyLink 2 and MyLink 2.5 do not have OTA update capabilities.
Infotainment 3.0 is a different system. |
My 19 updated twice yesterday.
|
wish my 16 had this feature...

All good until the ChiComs hack your ride via IoT...
|
My free WiFi trial was up a few days ago and I got an OnStar update yesterday. Be nice if they posted somewhere what the actual changes/improvements are.

my 17 updates point of interest for the nav all the time over wifi. it also automatically installs apps. I delete the ones i dont want and it re installs them. I have never gotten a firmware update over wifi.
