Finally - it's running again after the swap to an ATI TH400 / GForce 9" IRS rear and things are looking promising.

It's the fastest pass to date (5.85@120) for this car with only a 1.4 60ft leaving from idle and a couple of tuning issues that still need to be worked out.

Can't wait to try the transbrake/2-step once we get the bugs fixed.
Would love to see a 1.2-1.3 60ft from this thing!

Can you tell me more about the 9”. Did it add any noise or vibration? Which drive shaft and did it fit well? Did you do the aluminum center section? Spool? Where did you find the best price and how much?

Its a GForce 9" and don't think its an aluminum housing but the drive shaft is and its not a spool. Converter is pretty loose so changing that soon. It should go 5.60s once everything is working. I think we'll see an 8.70 pass this year at 160 or so.

This is crazy fast. I absolutely love the sound of the blower too. Part of me wishes you guys found a way to do this with the A8, but I also know why going to the TH400 was a smart move. They’re bulletproof and it can just be done and over with instead of wasting time with trial and error with the A8. It just would have been cool to see though for those of us that aren’t willing to Frankenstein our car too much. Then again I guess modded is modded and if you have the money and time to do anything, then why stop.

Mike did run 9.15@153 with the A8 but had to launch in 2nd gear and it finally broke the converter, the A8 was not damaged. The Maggie makes torque so quickly that it was hard to get it to leave without blowing the tires off. They did have to pull power out to get it so they could launch in 2nd gear. Obviously the tracks were not prepped on the power tour and it was very hot and slick at all the tracks and that didn't help either.

Hi Parish, so far I haven't noticed any additional noise or vibration, but again this car is the furthest thing from legal here in CA so no street driving in this state. The CV joint on the driveshaft is gone and we use good old U-Joints at both the trans and rear of the 4" aluminum driveshaft - maybe not the best for vibration but nice and strong.

We did use the Strange 9" aluminum carrier with 3.50 gear set and have both Strange S-Trac and Eaton Tru-Trac differentials along with the accompanying GForce axles. It was purchased directly from GForce and about 7K if I remember correctly.

Thanks, if I had known what we were getting into with the swap to the TH400, we would have stuck with the A8.

Trying to make the ECU happy has been much more work than we would have anticipated and we are still a bit from having it right. In the pass in the video the throttle closed to 63% just after I shifted into 3rd hence only 120 MPH (it normally goes about 122). That's our next hurdle and it's continually been like this. Fix one problem, the next arises. Fortunately, along with the help of many other Tuners out there, we have been able to find ways over and around each problem. There are lots of people out there that have had input to this car, more than I can list, but thanks goes out to all of them who have helped to get it this far - I'm sure we're pretty close to finally realizing a full pass soon!

Oppps, got some of the info wrong. Thought it was GForce rear also. Most everything else was close to right.
